Coming from San Diego, I had high expectation. The Public Izakaya did NOT disappoint, and if fact, raised the bar. I see myself coming back tomorrow and every time I find myself in the Bay Area. Was feeling sashimi, so went with the best of the best. Staff was as great as the food, and I was lucky enough to be immediately seated. I would recommend this to the most discerning Izakaya fans. The food was good overall. Unfortunately, it was unclear what items were vegan despite asking about it multiple times 😤. We ordered vegetable tempura, green gyoza, edamame, Philadelphia roll, and garlic noodle. The interior decoration was carefully curated 🖼 and had a great atmosphere! Lots of fun dishes to try, would recommend for a group.
Came here for a late night meal after a concert and we just couldn't stop eating. The food was perfect, portions generous, and the service was spot on. Can't wait to go back
