Never expected to come here but so glad I did. The sandwich man is so kind and upbeat. Latino music on the inside. Got all the options you need. Super courteous made sure I got what I wanted and was pretty quick.
The BEST sandwich spot in SF. Not only are the sandwiches HUGE and delicious, but the owner is one of a kind. I felt like I was part of the family. All minorities should support this spot. Not whitewashed, not a chain, a real, brown small business. Watched the owner help our homeless neighbors in real time- this business really does support the community however they can. We will be coming back again for sure. Thank you, The Sandwich Place, we WILL be coming back. 100000/10. Not sure how this place isn’t viral yet.
Best sandwich spot in the city! Shoutout Juan, he be doing it for 40+ years, a veteran in the sub game!!
The hole in the wall spots are always the best! Not only are the sandwiches huge and delicious but these sandwiches are made with love! The owner here is always friendly and you can tell that he cares about the quality of what he puts out. Don’t sleep on this place the sandwiches made here are worth every penny!
Great sandwich, fair price, owner was funny and friendly
The service and the food were amazing! We ordered breakfast sandwiches. Even though we got the small one, the portions were still big! They bake their own bread and it is delicious. We were immediately greeting by Juan who was so kind, friendly, and social.
Juan makes the best sandwiches (and gumbo) in the city

Great place with delicious sandwiches, I especially recommend bagels. A place full of history, run by a family for generations. Very nice service and great contact with the customer.

I guess the sandwiches look good in the pictures, but what you get in real life is pretty sad. Leaving you unsatisfied. Also, the owner at this place is very rude, loud, obnoxious, and unsanitary. So make sure to remind this guy to wash his hands or to wear gloves after picking his nose and licking his fingers .Absolutly no atmosphere except the small rubber table and chair on the urin soaked sidewalk. The aromas are unbearable.

Out with Goosebump Charlie last night bumpin around with a couple of Singapore Slings, and he tells me of a sandwich place that kicks out the best Pastrami in the city! Well, I've had pastrami in every delicatessen in the city...that's worth going into. So, I tell him "Prove it, if you're right, I'll pay! What's the name of this place I ask..he says...you mean..The Sandwich Place, I said yes, what's the name of the sandwich place...and the dipwad says it again...The Sandwich Place on Mission Blvd. I was flashing back back to the first time I heard Abbott and Costello's who's on first...Well, we went, and the Pastrami was Amazing!5 stars all day long. ☆☆☆☆☆

My friend Rebecca took me here when I first moved to the Mission. I revisited today, and the sandwiches filled my east coast deli dreams. The owner of this local place has been behind the counter more than 20 years, and is a talker with a heart of gold. Juan made my sandwiches while smack talking Philly sports teams, made one of the local characters a meal on the house like it was a usual thing, reminded another guy to get the long and short sandwich because his wife gets mad when he comes home without food for her (as a wife that does not know his wife, I can confirm this), and talked to another lady about bologna sandwiches. She wasn’t sure about the sandwich so then he gave her a generous taste with bread and mayo and then she decided she wanted a frozen pizza but didn’t know where to get one and he gave her directions! To walk and take the bus! I can barely handle my own thoughts let alone other people for more than a few hours so this man truly is a magical unicorn and must be honored. I loved hearing him tell stories about riding his lowrider down Mission. And he makes his own bread. The suns back, so grab a sammy from him and hit the park. Tell him the Indian lady from Philly in overalls sent you?
great local S.F. family run sandwich spot in the heart of the mission
