The rack of Lamb is #1. The sauces are great, too.

We came with high expectations, we were made to wait 30mins for our table even though we had a reservation. The service was non existent, although I left a 20% tip and told the Walter as I left I did so even though he didn’t deserve it, his answer was “whatever” and walked away. The food was average at best. It was deafeningly noisy. Avoid this place...

If you want good Vietnamese food without being gouged go to San Jose or ask a Vietnamese friend to invite you over to their mother's home for dinner. Any Vietnamese person when asked "where is the best food?", they will always respond at my mother's house. Not saying this isn't good but it's extremely overpriced. Vietnamese food is NOT fancy. It's street/home food. The film Always Be My Maybe highlights this and so does Anthony Bourdain (the few non-viet who has a deep understanding of the food). Look at all of the photos...see how unspecial it all looks and how it looks like every other photo at every other vietnamese restaurant. If you want elevated Vietnamese food then go to Crustacean or any of the House of An locations. There you get your money's worth because you are getting seafood and their dishes are aesthetically pleasing unlike the basic dishes here. And yes, my mother makes the best dishes that looks better than here.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon in San Francisco in 2013. On our last night, we went here. It was also my birthday. It was magical! Wonderful food, wonderful staff. And that “fog” dessert

Incredible food and amazing views. Service is speedy, and restaurant is right next to many other nice attractions.

Excellent dishes. We tried the spring rolls, green papaya salad, shrimp wonton and pork soup and the cellophane noodles with Dungeness crab. All very well tasty. Great portions for sharing. Service was great and dishes came out very timely. Cocktails were very good. Also took their advice and tried the Riesling flight with dinner.

The BEST Vietnamese food I have ever had! An elegant setting overlooking the bay. The crispy imperial rolls, the clay pot chicken, and the fresh spring rolls are the BEST!! Also highly recommend the confection for dessert!

It was good but im not sure about all the hype? It's more casual than I expected.

Visited March 2019. Four stars because our server was clearly disappointed that we were there. We arrived at 2 or 3pm for a late lunch. The cocktails, food, and coffee were great. This was my last restaurant meal before returning home to Dallas. I plan to return at a peak hour with a reservation.

Excellent Vietnamese fusion food that is usually quite crowded. Friendly service. Ambiance is great. Only issue is temperature. The restaurant keeps it too cold. Otherwise you'll have a lovely date night.

This was the final meal at Slanted Door before the SF Bay Area "Shelter in Place" went into effect. The food was wonderful (as usual), the restaurant almost empty and our server, who was friendly and professional, talked to us about the situation: his days had been reduced to two a week, so much that he was going to look for work in other areas, perhaps even a desk job. I don't know how that will be possible right now. We left the biggest tip we could afford along with our best wishes and highest hopes that everyone will be able to weather this storm. I hope we will be able to revisit Slanted Door in the near future, it's a dining marvel.
