The spices they used were not right. The chicken kabab had mustard in it, and that is the furthest thing from authentic Persian flavor. Absolutely zero flavor of saffron or turmeric.
The barg was the thinnest I’ve ever seen, more like beef jerky. Portions are small.
If you want authentic Persian food, do not go here. It’s unfortunate because the place is really cute and the staff is nice.

We had such a delightful time at Tintos! It was a wonderful surprise to find this Persian gem on Valencia Street. The menu is unique, exciting, and full of delicious flavors you don’t often come across in the neighborhood. Everything we tried was thoughtfully prepared and so tasty. Tintos really stands out as a special addition to Valencia Street, and we’re so glad we discovered it. Highly recommended!

A neat, family-run Persian restaurant. The owner is a hoot, we got in late, so there weren't many tables taken and he had the time to chat. We ordered lamb and stew, and Persian tea. Everything was great, and reasonably priced. We will be back.

This was first time being to a wine bar with Persian food. The host recommended great wines to us. We had it with a great Mezze platter. All the dips were amazing, especially the Kashke Bademjoon and the garlicky yogurt dip.
The owner was very warm and friendly. We had a good time! :)

Food was excellent, the proprietor is easily one of the most charasmatic and hostipable people, insisted on feeding us more than we ordered and kept coming back to top up our drinks. Highly recommend the kashke bademjan
A cute place to have a glass of wine, chat with a friend, connect with someone you just met or just simply watch the busy world goes by. Food is decent and the owner is friendly..

Tinto is an interesting experience and I don't mean it in a negative way. As you walk in , you get that feeling of being in somebody's living room. The place is nicely decorated and a blend between homey and a bit of kitsch. We happen to sit on the front sofa which is rather cool as you can watch the world go by while enjoying some morsels of good food. We kept our indulgence at a minimum and ordered two appetizers and one main. I really enjoyed the roasted eggplant dish and the cold meze platter. For the main we had the beef stew. Mixing the rice pilaf with the stew and salad brought out the flavour of that dish.
Cute place and nice service.

This is the worst Persian food we ever ate. It's possibly the worst restaurant we've ever been to. The lamb shank was not fresh, to say the least. The Gheimeh was stale and old. The rice was also dried out and obviously not fresh. The kashk-bademjoon we're not sure what it was, but didn't have any kashk. The service was extremely slow, mostly because it was a one man show. We're used to high prices in SF, but this was egregious. After spending over 100 per person, we went back home to eat something because the food was so terrible.
