Toast was warm at best.... I saw him washing dishes in a handwashing sink (healthcode violation in SD) service was fast but food was nothing special. The atmosphere is the main draw giving the 1950s feel.

The toast here is good. If you want french toast, they have lots of options and do it well. Anything toast related here is good. It falls very flat on the other items … so just really stick to what they do best. It is called Toast Eatery after all.

The vibe and service here is great. Prices are good too. Feels like an old diner, no frills, quick service. No complaints aside from the hash browns and eggs being nearly inedible, the toast was yummy. :)

This place used to be a Polk St mainstay … now it’s a fledgling generic breakfast place. We arrived a bit before 9 on a Saturday, and there were lots of open tables but every one was dirty. There was one server, 3 guys in the kitchen, and LOTS of people either waiting to have their orders taken or to be seated. The server was definitely in the weeds so I’ll give her a pass on that (though 30 min for coffee? Yikes). A few people came in after us and left because they weren’t...
