Haven’t been here in a while, but incredibly disappointed. The food was tasteless. Holland aide was a strange yellow & looked more like a paste than a sauce. These days breakfast for 2 easily costs $50 (today $51+). Don’t see myself coming back.

This is an average diner with not so great service. We will return and give them another try, but we weren't very impressed this time around. The eggs were cold, the waiter got three separate things wrong with our order and the food was just okay. It also took inordinately long for them to bring us our check. The highlight was the fresh squeezed apple juice from the juicery next door.Maybe next time......

Nice venue however the food was just ok. We waited 30min to get our breakfast food, the potatoes were cold and dry, we were told the chef was running behind. First and last timeFor me.

A quaint neighborhood spot. Unfortunately, my burger patty was so dry, despite being it cooked medium! $11 for a half stack of pancakes (two…) seems like there isn’t much value for money.

I hesitate to give any restaurant a bad review, given how hard it is for restaurants to stay afloat these days, but the waitress there today was downright offensive.I am used to being mostly ignored when I dine alone, but this was next level. After about 20 minutes of waiting for someone to take my order, the waitress finally came. She fake wiped the table after I sat, leaving syrup and crumbs all over it. Then she proceeded to wipe down the table of four next to me like her life depended on it. So her arm does work...She took my order. And then I waited for my food. And waited. And waited. Multiple tables seated after me got their food before me.She finally brought my food and it was cold. After another long wait, I went inside and asked for the check. Well, then she came sprinting out.I can't tell if the service is generally horrendous, or they try to discourage solo diners by ignoring them, or both.Service aside, the second star is for the nice outdoor seating, and that the food might have been good if it was hot.

West Portal is now my neighborhood and has been for 1/2 a year. There is something lovely about it... like leave it to Beaver met #MeToo. Nestled in the heart is Toast. We have been twice and both times were yummy. We like yummy. Though the space is a little cold; tile floor, metal chairs, the staff are courteous and efficient. I enjoy watching the chefs hustle in the open kitchen. No bones Eggs Benny, Biscuits swimming in sausage gravy, and hash browns fresh of the grill - soft inside and crunchy outside - no matter what you choose the food is solid. It is a little pricey but I think I just need to adjust my expectations a little. Family friendly and delicious, anyone swinging through West Portal on a rainy day won't be disappointed by a pit stop brunch at Toast. Oddly enough, I have never actually had the toast. I'll give it go next time.

Very good food, and very good Arnold Palmers. The service was okay, except the communication for payment, (being new to the restaurant), wasn't very clear. We ended up waiting for about an hour to get the check, (we were chatting and they seemed busy so we didn't mind), and asked them for it after that. They seemed to have forgotten, or maybe we were supposed to get it at the counter earlier. Either way, not super clear, but an okay experience overall.

Service was amazing and the satff was friendly , the time we went they had leaking issues in the bathroom. Food wise, we ordered the Toast Combo and Godfather omelette, both came with no salt or pepper or flavor. Granted we went towards the closing hour but the food was ok at best. Hope they learn from other places and set up their food quality. I also ordered Bloody Mary which came in with Soju, something they don't announce in their menu so that was a weird one.
