This place is fantastic. Great atmosphere, very comfortable, warm, and inviting. The owner does an excellent job making each guest feel welcome and seen. Same with the chef. Super nice guy. I know very little about wine and the owner was excited to share what he knew with me. Definitely check this place out!! Great after climbing too.

Wandered in after a long day in the city and had an absolutely wonderful time. The service was amazing - owners and chef were so friendly and knowledgeable and invited us right in. The wine was fantastic and the food options were amazing. I would highly recommend a visit if you’re looking for a nice place to have a glass of wine and some food with a warm and cozy atmosphere.

Great experience! The food was delicious - we ordered all three of their specials and enjoyed each - especially the portabello pesto tartine 🤤. We did the blind wine flight and had fun guessing what we got despite getting them all wrong. The staff was awesome to chat with and had the perfect balance of checking in. We were also celebrating, and they were kind to give us some congratulatory truffles that melted in our mouths. We'll be coming back!

My partner and I were waiting to go here and thrilled when we finally found a time. We went about 8pm on a Saturday, definitely towards the end of their service. The place is cutely decorated and has promise, however who I assume was the owner had taken over one of the largest tables in the place and was loudly conducting business like arguing with a kitchen staff member. He then refused us any tables that were 4 tops - they had at least 4 open with no other new customers. I understand if it’s tight or busy but no one else came in so we could have easily taken one without issue. Not to mention the “office” he was using was a 4 top he could have given up.. The stemware was great and food menu looked promising but we were immediately strongly turned off.

Rob and his team have created a lovely wine bar in the Dogpatch, they’re super friendly and can help you find the right wine for your taste!
Be sure to check out the blind flight experience and get your name on the leaderboard! Can’t wait to come back!

This wine bar was great until our server went off shift. No one ever came to check on us after that for about 30 minutes. Upon paying the bill, I jokingly mentioned to the bartender “hey you forgot about us back there” - The response I got was, “we believe in not interrupting conversation” at awine bar…….. wild …… hah.

I really enjoyed our visit to Gather. It’s a bit unassuming, so easy to miss but if you’re in the Dogpatch/Potrero Hill/Mission Bay area and looking for a quiet wine bar to unwind at, Gather is perfect.
My favorite things:
1/2 pour glasses so you don’t have to commit to a full glass if you didn’t choose a wine you like, though I’m sure the staff would happily change out for you.
Actual tasty and decent sized small plates. For $11 we were able to get a plate with slices of duck, pear, and crackers to go alongside. As far as small plates at wineries/wine bars go, this is where I’ve gotten the most value for my $.
A calm quiet atmosphere with music playing low in the background. It’s romantic and great for having conversation while you sip a glass (or three).

Huge fan of this place! Great ambiance, Rob the owner is super warm, and the wines are lovely. Not too crowded or loud, but lively enough to not be dead. Just the sweet spot, highly recommend!
