I saw an EBT accepted sign and was denied payment with mine. Dude said it was an "old sign" yet the one under it wasn't. I was charged 50 cent for a small brown sandwich bag though I was never asked if I wanted one. I certainly would have declined.
Reeks of SCAM!!! I advised my coworkers and we completed our 8 wk job contract without ever returning to place, though it was across the street.
DON'T PAY 50 cent for SANDWICH BAG! It's a SCAM to OVERCHARGE!!!

Food is great, atmosphere is usually pretty cool for either chilling or fun. But the last time I was there, I asked a simple question about the stew. The server/cook there cutting the meat responded in a very rude/uptight kind of way. I used to love visiting this place and getting a Roy Rodgers. But this most recent visit has made me feel very unwelcome. Still 3 stars because after I bought two entrees on this visit, both were very tasty.

I have been going here on and off for over 40 years. I hadn't been in quite some time. I was very happy to find it still open! Delish food, for meat eaters. Loved my carved pastrami sandwich. And good selection of beers on tap. Writing because the decor and vibe is STILL THE SAME AND FANTASTIC! So happy to visit again.

I’ll be honest and admit I don’t come here super often now that I live in the East Bay. But I have been coming here for a long time. I was absolutely schooled when I was charged $23 before tax and before being asked for a tip on the tablet screen for a below averaged size pastrami sandwich. The pastrami itself was tasty. But the portion did not justify $23 before tax and tip. Not even close. I feel bad for restaurants in today’s economy and empathize with whoever owns this place. But I am now a former customer as this was a very tough pill (in the form of a sandwich) to swallow. Wishing you all the best.

Been coming back for the BBQ brisket since I was in High School. 2001
I wanted to try something new, I always past by this place, so I finally tried it. They have a serving counter where they make your plate in front of you. I enjoyed the turkey sloppy Joe; I felt like I was back at Grandma's house. The interior is hip, I liked the decor. People had there children eating there too, so it is family friendly. Try something new!

I got the plate and the food was terrible and swimming in gravy. It's a local hangout with a good bar, however, the atmosphere was old and run down so I understand why it's so dark in there.

Literally you could eat at this place every single day and have something different and delicious I've had it all and love this place. I'll get the brisket plate or rib plate or mix up meats or I'll get the brisket sandwich or the bison chilli its home cooking and a good portion to fill you up. Price is decent too it's literally the same pricing as before the bidenflation. I wish I lived above or around this place so I can just stop in everyday but I live out of the city so I just go any time I'm passing by.
