I strongly do not recommend dining at this restaurant.

The staff's attitude is unbelievably poor (I wouldn't even call them service staff because there is no service at all). Their English is bad (they communicate with each other in Cantonese), yet they act very arrogantly and speak aggressively. When customers are ordering, it's as if they're not allowed to hesitate for even a moment. The moment you pause, they push you to order in a very hostile tone. In just the 20 minutes I was there, several local elderly Americans had trouble communicating with them due to their poor English, and the staff acted like it was the locals' fault for not understanding their broken English, which is beyond comprehension.

One of the elderly women who ordered the wrong dish and wanted to change it was lectured before the order could be corrected. The staff kept emphasizing that the reason that the change could be done was because the manager wasn't there, repeating it multiple times as if they were trying to make themselves look great, which was utterly disgusting.

It seems the restaurant isn’t treating them well enough, as you can hear them constantly complaining while you’re eating. They even grumble while cleaning the dining area, ruining the entire dining atmosphere.

The food is decent, but no one can truly enjoy it in such a horrible environment.

I highly do not recommend visiting this restaurant.

The attitude of the staff is terrible (I don't even call them service staff because there is no service at all). Their English is not good (they communicate with each other in Cantonese), but they are very arrogant and talk aggressively. It seems that customers cannot hesitate when ordering. Once they hesitate, they will be urged in a very aggressive tone. In the 20 minutes I was there, several local American elderly people had difficulty communicating with them because of their English problems, and their reactions felt like these locals should be able to understand their broken words. If you don't understand English, it's all these people's fault. It's quite difficult to understand.

One of the local old ladies who ordered the wrong meal and wanted to change it was only able to change it after being taught a lesson. The staff member also kept emphasizing that the manager was absent so that she could change the situation. He emphasized this numerous times, just to appear to be great, which was disgusting.

The store didn't seem to give them good enough treatment. As a result, they kept complaining during the meal, and they also had to clean up the outside environment while grieving, resulting in a very bad dining atmosphere.

The food is good, but no one can enjoy it in such a terrible environment.

Tomokazu has been at SFO for a very long time. It has okay food, especially for an airport, but the service was abysmal. I asked for a paper cup awhile back after I had already paid and I could hear the waiter wondering out loud in Mandarin whether she was going to give me a paper cup based on how much I tipped (hoping I wouldn't understand what she was saying).

Japanese food restaurant. Small inside the airport.
Well Japanese themed, with long tables for groups and sturdy, low chairs that could be safe for children.

They have dishes, ramen and sushi. As well as a variety of drinks.

There is an outdoor area where you could go out to eat too.

Japanese food restaurant in SFO.
The price-quality ratio for an airport is good.
The gyozas were on point and the sushi, although a little dry, was good too.
I think it is a good, relatively healthy option and one of the best I have seen in the terminal.
The correct service.

Wheelchair accessibility: It can be easily accessed since there are no ridges.

The employees here are very unfriendly to Asians.
Also, as someone who has loved Japanese food for a long time, I was very disappointed to eat beef gyudon that did not look like Japanese beef gyudon.
I don't know why I have to pay money and suffer discrimination and eat food of unknown nationality instead of Japanese gyudon. I recommend another restaurant.

Bought futomaki came with 8 pcs of sushi. Spent $16.66 USD. This is the worst taste sushi and most expensive quick meal I ever grub. Never come again!

Not A Lie

Loved the miso soup here! It had small mushrooms in it as well as other veggies and it elevated the soup texture, taste and appearance to a whole new level.

I fully understand the pricing of the items here given that it’s an airport and that much of their menu is sushi. I got their premade rolls and they didn’t taste much better than that you could get at Safeway. Maybe the quality was a little higher and a variety of ingredients, but overall flavor just made it seem lacking. The people working here also don’t pay much attention to you. I was a little confused when paying because I was met with silence and no eye contact. The atmosphere was nice and it was a well put together place physically and visually, but I wish it was more inviting. Most places I have been to at SFO, or even any airport, whether food or shopping have had more welcoming workers. I would rather walk to the A terminal and pay a fraction of the price for a simple bread bowl clam chowder— coming from someone who loves sushi.

Had a Torikatsu and Miso soup before my flight. The Torikatsu was quite good and they were very generous with the breaded chicken portions. The chicken goes really well with the rice and the pickles. The miso soup was also really good too, including mushrooms, seaweed, green onions, tofu. Quite a hearty meal, would recommend!

When the chef appears Japanese and doesn't speak English then you're in a pretty good Japanese restaurant. We asked for gluten-free and they were very accommodating. The rainbow roll was perfect. The chicken teriyaki was not a style I like but still very good.
The large crowd jammed into the tiny hole-in-the-wall plus the airport staff eating there also tells you it's good.

Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free soy sauce available and staff seems to know how to handle restrictions like this.

The gluten-free rainbow roll is a must-have! We did take out. There are many gluten-free options and gluten-free soy sauce!

The curry pork cutlet here is delicious! The chasoba is just soba, but there is no curry pork cutlet on the menu, so you can order pork cutlet and pay extra for the curry. I didn't want to eat it because I had no appetite, but I took a bite of my husband's and ate it all. The curry is rich and the potatoes inside the curry are very soft??The katsu batter is thin and the meat is quite thick. I couldn't take a picture because I was in a hurry.
