The slices are outstanding, but the service is slow, and the seating situation is ridiculous. Highly recommended if you haven't already dealt with anything else irritating at all on the same day.

I’ve bought a whole pizza from Tony’s before and loved it, but buying it by the slice… I’ll have to give them another shot.
The slices I bought were both pretty dry and lacked tomato sauce. It was good bread. If it was sold as focaccia, I would’ve loved it but for pizza, it wasn’t too great.
You can tell it wasn’t fresh. We got the Chicago Deep Dish and the New Yorker deep dish. They were like 90% bread, so we’ll try a slice next time.

How does SF get away with selling a slice of pizza for 6 to 7 dollars; sure the slices are large but that is just quantity making up for quality; their pizza has no character and isn’t capable of being compared to NY pizza which is just incomparable where you can still get a slice for a dollar. SF just doesn’t have a signature dish except for Irish coffee.
prices too high compared to the quality (the New Yorker pizza is better than the thin one)

Devastated. I told my cousin who was visiting from out of town to come here and it was awful. The pizza was cold, the crust was like cardboard and the only hot part was the fresh mozzarella on the margherita pizza. This was last night at 10:55pm and it was so embarrassing to have my cousin wait in line for "award winning" pizza only to tell me he'll never go back. Pls reconsider saying that this is the best pizza outside of Naples.

I’ve come here multiple times, and can say that the majority of the time the staff manages to do the almost impossible task, where they take a slice of pizza that’s already cooked, and fail to warm it up in an oven that’s already on. It honestly takes skill to fail to do this. I even ask for it to be extra hot, it gets printed on the receipt, and they still fail with probably the most simple task a pizza shop can do. Funny how they don’t fail at charging an “employee mandate fee”, pizza box fee and asking for a tip on takeout though.
The New York slices barely have any sauce on them, and the Detroit style is like eating a loaf of bread. All this place does is give hella dough, and sparsely spread out the reminder of ingredients. I’m tired of taking a gamble and getting served cold dough 80% of the time, so I will not return anymore.

Ordered through uber eats for pickup and this is what I got. Not only was my order not ready by the time they estimated, they hadn’t even started making it until I got there. Barely any ingredients for this “award winning” Cal Italia for $39+tax. Never ordering take out from Tony’s again. At least in person, Tony’s is good for the price. This is just infuriating given how small it is…

I can't rate the food, since I never get to try it. Walked out the first time for the super long wait. I get that places can get busy, but there are two cashier's and I wanted to ask a question, but could sense the avoidance. So, I left.
Second time, (yesterday) I waited 25 min for ONE slice of cheese pizza. Only after hearing them call out several orders that were clearly single slice boxes, I asked what was up with my order. You're calling out 600's, I'm in the 500's, what gives? I'm not the type to nag or complain to restaurant workers. I've been there.
When I asked if I could just get my money back, I was told that the pizza was still in the oven, since I ordered something that they were out of. I asked if they actually had to make a whole pizza just for my one slice, she replied "Yeah", with a big condescending smile. I told the cashier there was about half a cheese pizza on display when I ordered, and I would not have asked for it if there wasn't any. Only to be asked if I'd like something else instead. I was already late for work, and declined... No word on my refund.
I go back outside. I could see from the window that her and another employee looking through the order receipts. Finally, a manager (I'm guessing) addresses my issue.
In my experience, EVERY pizza joint where you can get a slice, they simply grab the slice on the spot and put it in the oven. I don't know what happened here..
Just admit you guys F'd up and forgot my order. And even if my order was cancelled, I still wasted 25min. Your business needs to do better in making situations like this right. I get you guys are very popular, but don't seem to care about a customers experience. At least in my case. I just wanted ONE slice of cheese pizza.

Great pizza! Had a slice of each, NY Big Kahuna, NY Cheese and NY Pepperoni slice. The cheese slice and soda (no refill) is a great deal for $5.75. The other two slices were $7 & $7.25, not bad for these giant slices. The crust was so crunchy and the sauce was delish! Service was good, they're polite and fast, we waited about 15 minutes for our pizza. They take cash and card. There are tables, but no one cleaning, maybe because it was busy. We cleaned our own table. There was no bathroom, but you can prob use the one in the restaurant next door.

I was hoping for a special dining experience, but unfortunately, it fell short. The pizza was disappointing—tough dough and rubbery cheese that felt far from fresh or unique. Beyond the food, the service was equally underwhelming. The employee who took our order was rude and impatient, which set a negative tone for the visit.
The restaurant also felt very disorganized. Simple improvements could make a big difference, like adding a rope to guide the line and showing customers where to stand. It was chaotic, with people gathering outside unsure of where to go. Additionally, a speaker system or at least loudly announcing order numbers would prevent the crowding and confusion around the single pickup window.
I expected more and hope they address these issues to improve the experience for future customers.

Restaurantji Recommends
This establishment is part of the Tony's Restaurant next door, but here is faster service just for take out pizza slices. We purchased 2 plain cheese ($6 each) and a 4 cheese pizza slice ($7.25 each). It was very busy even on a Sunday evening, but the line went very fast. Our food was ready in about 5-7 minutes. The pizza looked good and were extra large, but was dry and did not have much tomato pizza sauce. I believe since the slices are reheated the sauce dries out and thus would recommend getting a side of sauce or buying a whole pie from the original Tony's next door.
Pizza base was very thin and it was also burnt like coal on some spots, cheese was good though!
Ambience was amazing, so was the service.

massive slices and definitely filling. must add the chili oil + peppers to add a layer of flavor.
big kahuna: personally not my favorite, pineapple chunks hard to eat
Yesterday at noon, I had a disappointing experience with Slice House’s Stromboli on Stockton Street. I’ve had my share of Strombolis across many places, and I know what good Stromboli should be like—hot, soft, rich with oils and fresh flavors. Unfortunately, what I received here was none of that.
I had to wait longer than expected, which would have been fine if it meant a fresh, well-made item. But when it arrived, it was clear they were just reheating an old Stromboli that had been sitting in the fridge overnight. The texture was off—tough and stale, lacking the usual warmth and richness I’d expect. It honestly felt like I’d paid for yesterday’s leftovers. Slice House, if you thought I wouldn’t notice, you couldn’t have been more wrong.
Adding to the irony, there was a sticker on the box claiming their ingredients are so high-quality that the food is just as good the next day. After eating this, I have to wonder if they even eat their own food. This kind of approach suggests they don’t prioritize the customer experience or quality control, which is a huge red flag for any restaurant.
From now on, I’ll take my business to the breakfast burrito place next door. Here’s some advice for Slice House: if you’re serving an inferior product, don’t pretend it’s up to your usual standards. Be honest about it. Maybe even offer something like a free soda if you’re serving reheated items—it’s a small gesture that could go a long way. But after this experience, I won’t be coming back. Glad I could help with your profits, I guess, but not at the expense of quality.
