Our meals at the Toy Soldier in San Francisco were delicious. I had the salmon with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagas. My husband had the sea bass with a unique light mushroom sauce. Both were cooked perfectly. The goat cheese salad had a wonderful light dressing and dried cranberries. It was so large we shared it. We will definitely be going back the next time we are in San Francisco.

They always say you find the best restaurants hidden in alleys... and we found one here. My husband and I were at the ICA contemporary art museum around the corner and checked opentable to see what restaurants were close by. The dinner menu here, with grilled proteins like steak, pork chops and fish was an easy decision... and it did not disappoint. Our super friendly server recommended a Malbec (most places recommend the highest priced reds with a steak but not our server) and it was perfect. Everything was cooked to proper temperatures and we never had an empty glass of water. Oh yea... the French fries were so good we actually took home what we couldn't finish and air fried them later that night. STILL GOOD! Can't wait to go back to try the lunch menu and have the burger (and fries!)

Fantastic lunch. Food was very good and Arturo our waiter has great recommendations that were all better than described. A bit pricey but not at all disappointing and will definitely come back. We had the burger, cheesesteaks and chicken sandwich and shared across the table. The burrata was super fresh with amazing heirloom tomatoes. Service was attentive and friendly and helpful at every turn. Thanks Toy Soldier!!

The service and food were amazing! It's in an “alley” and it's small. I was a little worried walking up to it. But it was great and they had cheap oysters too!!

I hosted a graduation dinner for 30 people at Toy Soldier, and the experience was outstanding. The food was exceptional, beautifully presented, and delicious. The service was impeccable, particularly Arturo, who went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and that everyone enjoyed themselves.
We were provided with a fantastic private room featuring its own restrooms, making it very convenient for our large group. The fully stocked private bar with a dedicated bartender elevated the evening even more, adding an extra level of enjoyment and convenience.
I highly recommend Toy Soldier for any special event. The entire experience exceeded our expectations, and we can't wait to return
