This place is old school Italian in a good way. Cozy even. The service was very good. The food was solid but could have used more seasoning. It was surprisingly crowded for an early dinner. The combo bruschetta was good but could have benefited from some salt.

Be aware that their drivers behave like lunatics even when driving company vehicles in the rain. Today, this driver was going extremely fast in San Mateo going on the highway almost causing an accident. Again it was raining with reduced visibility and poor traction.

Excellent and friendly service. The lasagna was delicious and hearty, but our other dish, oxtail pasta felt bland and also under salted. The Caesar salad wasn’t anything to write home about, but the garlic cheese bread was decent.

Overall not worth the price.

Doesn’t feel like authentic Italian food. Do yourself a favor and go to Little Joe’s down the street for takeout. Better value and quality

Excellent place to have an authentic Italian dinner. We ordered the Garlic Bread, mushroom ravioli, vegetarian pizza, nutella calzone and chocolate cake with ice cream. All dishes were fantastic.

it started when we were asked if we wanted to sit outside, we asked to sit inside and the waiter gave me a sour look. we were sat inside and another waiter brought some water. i asked a question about the order, and he gave me the "I dont speak english" answer. a third waiter came over and answered my question in a very fast spanglish answer. it would normally be quiet in there but a group of waiters were talking and laughling so loud I thought I was at a game or something. So unprofessional. if a meal comes with bread or anything it needs to be on the order. Italian restaurant no one is speaking italian, laughing and shouting in spanish. We left. will not go back. Need to be professional. Not going to pay 30+ a plate for mexican ambiance in an italian restaurant. the owner needs to hand out kicks in the butt to his staff.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I 100% would….

We had the privilege of working with Vittorio and his team for our wedding, and they truly exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we started planning, they made the entire process so easy and stress-free. What stood out the most was how attentive they were to our guests’ dietary needs—nothing was too much trouble, and they went above and beyond to ensure everyone had delicious options to enjoy.

The food was nothing short of amazing. Our guests still can't stop talking about the tender short ribs, the flavorful chicken piccata, the rich and comforting lasagna, and the fiocchetti, which was simply out of this world. Every bite was incredible, and it made the dining experience unforgettable. The entire meal was an absolute hit with everyone!

On the day of the wedding, their team seamlessly handled everything. They executed a flawless transition between the ceremony and reception setups while simultaneously making sure the passed appetizers were flowing during cocktail hour. Their professionalism, combined with the incredible quality of food, made them a standout vendor (who became more like family). And on top of all of that, their pricing was beyond reasonable for the level of service they provided. We feel so fortunate to have had Vittorio and the Trattoria da Vittorio team be a part of our special day and highly recommend them to anyone looking for outstanding food and exceptional service. We will certainly be using them again in the future, and visiting the restaurant many more times with our friends and family!

Also, the restaurant is equally amazing! My now husband, friends and family can’t get enough. We got dinner here 2 days after our wedding and have many future plans with friends and family to continue to return.

Dietary restrictions: My sister has a Gluten Allergy and Vittorio was so accommodating, both at the restaurant and when he catered our wedding. Be allowed us to add a separate dish just for the few people that had allergies, and also made adjustments to some of the apps we got so they could have some too. It was awesome!

Overview: feels like an Italian resturant. Plenty of wine bottles...the wine list is extensive. Outdoor patio seating

Meal/Time: Dinner Sunday 523PM
Seated: 523PM
Ordered: 532PM
First ordered item arrived: 540PM

Decor/Atmosphere: Italian cafe, wine

Service/ Front of the House:
Greeted and seated immediately

Service/Serving Staff: order taker did not introduce himself. Asked if we had any questions. Service Staff not engaging.

After we got our appetizers the waitstaff became more attentive. They cleared the starter plates and replaced the used silverware...really appreciate it.

Did not come around to see if I wanted a refill of my iced tea.

Food:
Grilled Polenta with Gorgonzola Mushroom cream sauce $20. Not bad... you can really taste the cheese. I did not see any grill marks on the Polenta. It was more of a slight pan crisper then grilled.

Fried Calamari and artichoke $22. Cooked perfectly. Crispy, tender and moist. Crust is light and airy.

For the main course, I had the "grilled" Branzino $32. The dish was served with mashed potatoes and Brussel Sprouts. The brazino was more pan fried then grilled. The dish was really good and a real keeper. The fish was juicy and flaky with perfect amount of salt and lemon. The Brussel Sprouts were tender and not bitter. Mashed was bit watery but good nevertheless.

Value: good value for the quality of the meal. Service could be a bit better.

Restroom: single unisex. Spacious with baby changing table. It was stocked

Will I come back?: Yes...the short ribs looked tempting.

Vittorio was absolutely phenomenal as our caterer for our big wedding. We had close to 450 people for our grand wedding, and LET ME TELL YOU that Vittorio and his team did a wonderful job of having everyone enjoy delicious food, make their plates both quickly and comfortably, and did this in such an orderly fashion it was mind blowing. He truly makes you feel like family, it was such an honor to have his food served at our reception. I STRONGLY suggest checking out his restaurant as well since its delicious, but if you ever plan on having good, quality Italian food with elite service at a large event, look no further than Trattoria Da Vittorio.

Sat outside for a late lunch. Service was great, bucatini was a little overcooked and pretty basic but the calamari at the other table looked great.

We had lunch early on a Sunday. It seemed the waiters were rushing us. There were only 2 other tables occupied. Ceasar salad was soggy, meatballs in sauce had NO Flavor. Stickin to SPIAZZO, a longtime favorite for over 20 years!!!

Generous portions and friendly staff at your unpretentious neighborhood Italian restaurant. The meatballs appetizer’s sauce was amazing, and the pizza and pastas did not disappoint. Family friendly and outdoor seating available.
