The bar employees are abusing their authority. I have no intention of returning.

Now called The Salty Dawg. Nice place for fancy drinks with friends. We went around 4:30 and the place was packed shortly after we arrived. Good vibes, good times.

I came recently and loved the Salty Dog tiki concept and tropical cocktails! To be honest I only tried one cocktail- the Rising Sun with gin, strawberry amaro, strawberry-ponzu cordial, ginger beer, and lime- which was light and refreshing. It didn't taste too spirit forward but was surprisingly strong. I liked it so much that when everybody else moved onto different drinks, I ordered another of the same :) We also ordered food for the table- most memorable was their tasty famous kale salad- an absolutely gigantic pile of curly kale with delicious avocado-parmesan dressing. The rest was decent but not worth mentioning in comparison. My group sat upstairs in one of the private rooms which was very cozy and had a window peeking into the courtyard greenery of Penny Roma. The red lighting made photos look a little like we were hanging out in a darkroom or warehouse. Our server was super nice and friendly and offered great recommendations. In short- great cocktails, great kale, great vibes. Can't wait to see what their next theme will be!

Trick Dog is a must try for craft cocktail lovers. The concept and menu of the space changes regularly making it fun to keep coming back. The service is great and the ambiance is darker with red lights if you have a reservation or are sitting upstairs. I went to the latest incarnation called The Salty Dog, which was a tiki friendly pirate concept. Drinks wise, I enjoyed the picturesque tequila and rum Floriblanca as well as the tasty gin and absinthe Happy Delivery. I had to try it but the Adventure Galley with the avocado was a little too much for me. Overall, Trick Dog was a fun spot for a great cocktail. I can't wait to come back!

Great mixologists and drinks here! A+ The room layout is just a little strange- it feels like I am missing something and there should be upstairs/ balcony access.

My boyfriend and I stumbled across this bar when we were walking around the area after dinner. The interior is a little hodge podge of tiki bar and disco decorations. We ordered the dorada (mezcal, prickly pear) and the floriblanca (tequila, mango, coconut). Both drinks were pretty good and didn't taste too spirit forward. It can get pretty loud and packed on a Saturday night, but luckily there's upstairs seating that's quieter for talking. They also have a number of finger foods on the menu, but we were too full to try it out.

Nice cocktail selection. Mine was tasty, a tad bit sweet, but there were many on there with different flavor profiles other than sweet. I was a bit disappointed with the chicken sando in all honesty, kind of fell apart since it's in a hot dog bun, and the chicken itself was not the most flavorful. Seemed like a busy night and they were a bit short staffed, but waiter was very friendly. Sat upstairs and downstairs seemed to be more bar setting for large groups chit chat and squeeze together.

Service excellent bar design is trashy pirate meets a dungeon I guess drink combinations unique 4 drinks, fries, and tip $90 Nothing that special - Not worth it - wouldn't recommend

Loved the vibe of this place - sorta tiki lounge, sorta neighborhood bar, sorta divey... it all worked so well. great unique drink menu, and then i had to go and do it - i asked for a drink not on the menu (a painkiller, a tropical sort of drink from my past). she looked it up and it came out in these large, heavy ceramic tiki cups... INSANE good, like she had always known how to make one. Anyway, earns a special place in my heart after that.

Fun bar but drinks were nothing special and were inconsistent. Ordered two of the same drink at the same time & they tasted completely different. The bouncer also was giving an uncomfortable vibe. I don’t think I will be returning when there are other great cocktail bars in the

We have been to trick dog twice. It is a cramped space with limited seating so be prepared to stand and hold your drink. They recently changed up their menu and I was not a big fan for the price of their drinks. They’re going for Hawaiian tropical vibes right now in February it feels like and it wasn’t quite the vibe for a colder wet night with the new menu called Salty Dog. Be prepared! I had a tough time finding a drink that looked yummy that night, the one I got was super sweet and tasted more like a twist on a sweet pina colada. Not worth the money! Hope they change their menu scene soon if we visit again.

I liked the environment. Cute bar. Was accommodating for our group. Drinks were good while I would have loved something more alcohol forward so I ordered an old fashion. Tho I liked the drink menu.I also liked the food it looked good and tasted good. The fries were on point. The hot dog was overpriced but still tasted good

Trick Dog is a pretty cool bar that has a rotating drink menu that never ceases to amaze me. Offering a variety of craft cocktails, some fruity, some spirit forward, most are pretty dang strong. Trick Dog is not a one trick dog and their constantly changing menu really leaves more to be explored. I keep finding different reasons to come back. Guaranteed I'll try to make it out here at least once every few months because it is the best bar in the Mission Area, prove me wrong. Trick Dog also serves up one of the best kale salads I've ever had, and I'm not even a huge fan of kale. It's pretty much covered in cheese and generously dressed, but mmm so tasty. Their bartenders are also super nice and friendly, and offer great recommendations. Just come, sit down, order a few drinks, and I'm sure you'll have a good time.

The kale salad is an absurdly voluminous and absurdly delicious meal. Given the quantity it probably doesn't make good on a kale salad being a healthy meal but it's hard to exercise self control with it. I recommend getting seated upstairs if you're not looking to drink, as ordering at the bar is virtually impossible. While the bartenders don't do much to aid ordering, the servers upstairs are very attentive. Regardless of the service, this salad should be in the Bay Area dining hall of fame.
