Had their nabe udon, super salty, chicken was mushi, way too much green onion. Was very sleepy afterwards - my reaction after eating msg. So, no. Save youself some money, go to Nijiya market, buy some good frozen udon and dashi powder and make your own udon at home probably taste better.
Will never go again.
Two stars for the staff who greeted me with energy and politeness ◡̈

The lights in their soda is the coolest thing ever.
Udon mugizo is a cozy, intimate restaurant serving amazing ramen. We had ordered the udon dlx, creamy salmon, katsu curry, donburi, lychee soda. Perfectly cooked ramen, amazing broth.

Their wait time is over 1-2 hours so be prepared. We were politely asked to leave for the next batch of people to come in haha. They were really sweet and friendly.

A must eat!

Great food and they were SO fast. The only big problem is that I ordered my dish not spicy and they accidentally gave me medium spicy which ended up giving me a stomachache. I'll make sure to very strongly specify next time that I want no spice.

Great food, good service. I'm a repeat customer.

I wish the Mentai Udon was more consistent. Most of the time it's really good, but some nights it's kinda watery and bland and that's always a disappointment.

Great udon place with good variety. The white waitress however was rude, slamming the cup on the table and the water spilled out.

Underwhelmed by the nabeyaki udon. I didn’t like that the tempura was placed in the soup like a garnish instead of on the side, so it was soggy if not eaten ASAP. It should’ve been placed on the side imo.

I actually preferred the vegetable udon (also vegan!) the flavors were much better + really unique

Inside busy japan town mall. Was very busy, even at late lunch so if you want to come, make reservations in advance probably.

Udon was good, not best I've had in the US. Prices were a bit higher than I'd like as well. Something around ~20$ per person for basic udon. Definitely filling.

My recent visit to this udon place was… adequate. The udon itself was acceptable, neither particularly impressive nor disappointing. However, the service was lacking. I requested "mild" spiciness, but the server responded with a prolonged, silent stare before wordlessly pointing to the menu. The menu offered "spicy," "medium spicy," and "no spicy"—a confusing presentation. Logically, "no spicy," "mild spicy," and "regular spicy" would be more intuitive. How can one differentiate between "spicy" and "medium spicy" without a "mild" option? Consequently, I received what I assume was their "spicy" (highest) level, despite requesting "mild." While the udon was fine, I strongly recommend revising the menu's spiciness labels and, more importantly, improving staff communication. Clear communication is crucial, and this establishment falls short. I hope they take this feedback constructively.

My first interaction with this Udon Mugizo branch was that I was texted that my table was ready and the host let two other groups go before me even though I was standing at the front waiting (and both couples had just approached the host). I had a terrible server who had attitude from the start of ordering till the end. No introduction, just "are you ready to order?." I had my hand up for around eight minutes to ask for my check and I could see the other server also glancing at my hand in the mirror. My server also slammed my takeout container on the table after I paid. It wasn't a busy time and there were only a couple other people in so I'm unsure of why I had such bad customer service but I am definitely telling everyone to avoid this branch. I got the kitsune udon and it was a lot saltier than I'm used to, especially for kitsune which is supposed to be sweet tofu. I am highly disappointed because I am a big fan of their other branches and was hoping that the main branch had the same quality.

I didn't choose the right dish, it wasn't to my taste unfortunately. I didn't like the beef cut this way because it had a lot of gelatin and the taste of the broth. The pasta was good though.

There was a long wait to get in but b/c there’s so much cool things to check out near by it didn’t feel like a chore. The Udon was great and the sizes are huge! It was even better as left overs. Definitely would recommend making a reservation in advance or right when you get into Japantown if you’re planning on shopping around/exploring.

Parking: Idk if they reimburse parking b/c we forgot to ask, but we were there like 3 hours and parking was super cheap (comparatively) in the garage for about 6$!!

Udon has good texture. Love their salmon Spanish creamy udon. Mentaigo creamy udon was good as well. Gyoza was delicious wrapped in shizo leaves. No wait around 3 pm Sunday afternoon. Fast service. During weekend dinner time it was over an hour wait.
