One of the few Portuguese restaurants in the bay area, and easily my favorite. I have dreams about the Pasteis De Bacalhau...

Dietary restrictions: My partner is pescatarian and gluten & dairy intolerant. Uma Casa is always able to make it work - it's one of her favorite places.
Uma Casa, so much potential but maybe I just ordered the wrong food items. No they were not bad but they simply didn't stand out . So we tried their polenta, sardines and pork shoulder dish. The polenta was nice but needed a hint of salt to bring out its flavor, the smoked broccoli was a nice addition in the dish but the mushrooms didn't add or subtract, they were just there like filler. The sardines had a nice flavor but were a bit too salty and yes bone galore...
We ate and drink wine at the bar. The bartender was very knowledgeable about the food and wine, and the food was delicious. Our only complaint was a major one, that the place was very noisy, even when it wasn’t that crowded, and did not have a warm atmosphere.
