Food was okay. Had high hopes on this place after hearing about the head chef. Most disappointed with the short rib. Came out under seasoned and over cooked for my liking. Appetizers were decent, but again, expected more.

A bit pricey the service was sloooow, but admittedly it was quite packed. The food was delicious and they had some good wines.

Ungrafted is seriously a gem. Not just a neighborhood gem but an SF gem. The food is absolutely delicious. Every time I visit this restaurant I leave raving about what I just ate.

Most recently we ordered the butter chicken gnocchi, the salmon and curry rice, the cabbage with green goddess sauce, and the celeriac salt fries and I loved it all. The fries are perfect, the cabbage was delightfully creamy and savory, and the salmon and butter chicken dishes both flavorful and enjoyable. Also ordered one of their vermouth and ginger soda cocktails and it was delicious. I gobbled up all the leftovers the next day. Service was also excellent.

Glad we finally got the chance to come and enjoy the food, wine, and atmosphere of Ungrafted! Great wines selected by the sommeliers and very creative and delicious food. We didn't even intend to go entirely vegetarian, but so glad we did! Loved the mushroom parfait the most! Will definitely go back for this dish every time.

Ungrafted is an exceptional wine destination in Dogpatch, where the two master sommelier owners have curated an unparalleled collection that prioritizes quality and taste over merely impressive price tags. Unlike other establishments across the city that seem content to push expensive bottles without consideration for the customer’s experience, Ungrafted’s approach is refreshingly genuine and knowledgeable. The staff—warm, welcoming, and extraordinarily versed in their offerings—creates an atmosphere that rivals the hospitality of Michelin-starred establishments, making even casual wine enthusiasts feel valued and enlightened. Their ability to guide you through their globally-sourced selection, explaining the story behind each bottle with passion and precision, transforms a simple glass of wine into an educational journey that elevates the entire dining experience. For anyone seeking not just exceptional wine but an authentic connection with those who serve it, Ungrafted deserves to be your next destination in San Francisco.

A fantastic restaurant in San Francisco where we had a farewell dinner at the end of a week touring wine country.

Food amazing, great wine selections and owner/sommelier Chris was a superb host.

I have been multiple times. The wine selection is wonderful, varied, and comprising a sampling of grapes from the whole world.
The staff is very knowledgeable (I’m pretty sure everyone is a sommelier). They are super nice and willing to engage with me at my level of wine knowledge.
The food is great. Everything I sampled was delicious. Stand outs: braised ribs, fried chicken with polenta and summer truffles, and the japanese sweet potato appetizer.

Kid-friendliness: There is a short table with crayons and books at the back of the restaurant floor.

Wheelchair accessibility: I’m no expert but I’m pretty sure all passage ways and at least one of the 3 toilets is ADA compliant.
