Tucked away in the vibrant heart of San Francisco lies a true gem for wine lovers: a wine bar with international flair, refined taste, and meticulous attention to detail. The global wine selection is outstanding, with a notable focus on Australian and New Zealand labels—two from each we sampled, and were thoroughly impressed.

The culinary offerings beautifully complement the wine experience, with dishes that are both elegant and flavorful. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between modern sophistication and warm hospitality. Rounding out the visit is a courteous, knowledgeable staff—attentive without being intrusive.

This is an amazing place to grab a glass of wine or maybe stay a couple hours for food and more wine.

We had a bottle of Albariño, a few oysters, 3 cheeses and 2 meats from their selection. They were all fantastic.

This place is such a vibe you can’t go wrong with coming here. It is a bit small so you may have to share tables or wait but it’s worth it.

Walked in on a Friday afternoon (5pm) and grabbed seats easily. The service was excellent and the wine/food was fantastic too. Love the big windows which made it fun to people watch.

The best part is to see the trolleys running up and down the hill while enjoying nice wine

Fantastic way to start off a weekend in SF. Worth the hike up Hyde from the Argonaut. Great food, wine, ambiance. Coming from Tempe, the open windows and breeze just added to the wonderful experience. Cheers!

Service and Atmosphere matter so small business owners should mind who they hire. We were a party of 4 Russian Hill neighbors. Instead of going to our usual spot, Muse, we deeply regret our choice to try Union Larder. The staff was incredibly rude and told the four of us to make use of 4 bar stools in a corner. We didn't fit in the space allotted. The staff literally said, "we might need space for other customers." Meanwhile, staff was totally inattentive to our needs and did nothing to tell us about their food. The staff was so preoccupied with guarding empty bar stools as they appeared mostly anxious and worried about whether they had volume sufficient to net gratuity before the end of their shift. It was blatantly obvious and I felt embarrassed and uncomfortable. They would have done better to focus on service and selling up their food choices. Instead, our night sucked, nothing was interesting and no staff attempted to make it interesting. I don't even know what food they serve. My party did 2 drinks a piece (8 total) and no food, even though we had come with an appetite. Then we hit the road. I recommend firing the lot, get some folks who find pleasure in the business, wish to make suggestions to customers, and who will ensure customers feel welcomed. Bunch of restaurant hacks at this place. Total lipstick on a pig scenario. Though it looks nice from the exterior, it only offers disappointment and no value.

Always crowded with the date crowd and people who don't leave the hill, but it's worth the wait for a spot.

It’s a great bar for your first date; but no one returns to it ; and therefore it’s not a neighborhood bar; but It’s exterior architecture - a transportation hub / station converted to a bar - is startlingly good; but the interior doesn’t create a sense of belonging.Stools are designed to traumatize your posterior; perhaps a short date is best ; the beer and snacks and the service are great but without the neighborly feeling , it’s just another brick in the wall;

I was here to keep my friend company. There was a huge wait for seating and it was super loud here. Seems to be a place that is frequented by locals.

very positively impressed. a good selection of wines at a decent price per glass. Some really nice cheese and charcuterie boards too. 10 bucks for each pinch of cheese or charcuterie is quite a price for nibbles though. we were wild on the olives and pickles though.it'll have to be a 4 star +++ until the pricing is sorted out though. 140$ for what can only be called a snack for two is too much.
