Vesuvio is noted as being one of Kerouac’s favorite bars amongst many other famous writers, musicians and artists. It’s like walking into a little slice of history. It is somewhat touristy, but the locals are still alive and well in this atmosphere. If you are a young yuppie, just please remember to tip the staff well - I saw multiple people mistreat these hard working bar tenders after they served up a slew of complicated cocktails.

Vesuvio Cafe is an incredibly atmospheric and iconic bar with a unique character you won’t find anywhere else. The vibe is vibrant, artistic, and full of history - you can feel it the moment you walk in.
The cocktails are excellent - well balanced, creative, and made with real attention to detail. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy great drinks, and soak in the energy of the city at the same time.
If you’re looking for a bar with personality, great cocktails, and a truly memorable atmosphere, Vesuvio Cafe is a must-visit.
