Overpriced fast food at best. Salad wilted and sour. Absolutely nothing special about the fried chicken. Barely crispy. Service was sub par and rushed. Server complained about the traffic in San Francisco. Huh? Made to wait for a table that was empty and set when we arrived? Place was mediocre ten years ago and now , somehow even worse. Save yourself hundreds of dollars and go to a real fried chicken restaurant.
I've been to Wayfare Tavern several times before and have loved each experience until last night. We were seated promptly at our reservation time which was great, however it then took took 10 minutes before anyone talked to us or got us any water. Not the end of the world, but things didn't exactly pick up from there. The table next to us was extremely loud, that's not the restaurant's fault but added to the chaos of the evening. It took more than 20 minutes to get our first drink, and when my wife was given a chance to place her drink order they eventually came back to let her know that they were out of that specific cocktail. Bread showed up around the 30-minute mark, then shortly after our food arrived. From there we went about half an hour without anyone checking in, and no one ever asked how our food was once it arrived. The appetizer selection has always felt a bit underwhelming, but thankfully, the fried chicken was just as good as I remembered. It was crispy and juicy and just overall great. My wife enjoyed her burger and fries. And the macaroni and cheese we ordered to share was great. The food was phenomenal as always which kept this from being a one-star experience.
Great service, while limited menu very tasty house specialties: deviled eggs, popover, fried chicken, and donuts for dessert. Best with a martini or 3.
I love this restaurant for the food, ambience & service. I do like the new location and decor!!
My birthday was a total riot—think food so good it deserved its own fan club, service so slick they could've moonlighted as secret agents, and an atmosphere so vibey it practically had its own theme song!
I've been to Wayfare three times in the last two months and each time I've found their food very heavy on the salt. That's been the case with the fried chicken, the cobb salad and the branzini. Not sure I could have found a way to make cobb salad salty but darn if they didn't find a way!
Solid appetizers, mediocre entrees, overpriced wine list. Main dining room has a better ambiance and temperature than being in the kitchen area. Glad someone else paid. I would not be back on my own dime except to have the apps.
Decor & service was nice. The tables were so close together. Our coats were piled up beside us in the booth, leaving little room for us & the people beside us. The bathroom scene was the worst. I don't want to be washing my hands & putting on lipstick beside 3 dudes! Honest feedback but these communal bathrooms are horrible.
Returning to Wayfare Tavern, but in a new space, was a transcendent experience. My husband and I went in for the tried and loved fried chicken and burger, but ended up with the pork schnitzel and the beef stroganoff with parisien gnocchi. The beef was one of the best dishes I have had in a while, and it made me excited to dine out again. Hats off to chef and the team for day 2 being insanely delicious.
Absolutely delicious! Our server Rome was amazing. They clearly have a hit on their hands here. Amazing friendly, thoughtful, attentive service and delicious food. From the moment you walk through the door. We were a group of four and tried everything from appetizers to side dishes, salads and pasta, veggies and fried chicken. Highly recommended! The lavender lemonade was light and refreshing... the tea perfectly brewed and flavorful. Even the restrooms were top notch with gender neutral facilities, spacious private rooms. This restaurant all around offers a warm and welcoming feeling. My fave bites were the fried chicken (to live for!), pickled carrots, creative spin on a deviled egg, and lavender lemonade. We loved it and left already discussing coming back for our next visit!

So glad to have this great restaurant next door to us. Had a nice lunch for 8 with our staff. The burger was delightful and the chicken sandwich was very good. Deviled Eggs were delicious. And the donuts ended our meal in a high point. The staff was attentive and very knowledgeable. We had a great time . We will be back!
Fantastic food and ambiance! The main dining room gives proper room between tables, which is always appreciated. The bar and nearby communal tables looked nice too. I didn't know you could make a salad that unique, but still a classic. The crunchy quinoa was delicious. As for their famous fried chicken, we had high expectations, and boy, was it delicious. Like others have said online, the Smoked Skipjack Tuna Dip starter was also great.
We booked for me and my husband but last minute my sister in law wants to join us so Whitney was able to upgrade our seat reservation to a booth to accommodate 3! Lani is our server and she's outstanding from start to finish!! We enjoyed our food and drinks and Lani surprised us with a donut dessert with a candle to blow for my bday celebration!
I've been a loyal customer at Wayfare's Sacramento restaurant for many years so I was looking forward to dining in their new Pine Street location. In the span of just a few days, we enjoyed dinner twice at their new location for their soft opening. It didn't disappoint! Both our bartender and waiter were fabulous and everyone we spoke with was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and beverages. The new space is beautiful with several different dining areas on the main floor with the upstairs reserved for private parties. I'll be back soon.
The steak was smothered in sauce. The chicken was overcooked. The staff were somber, never smiled you could not taste the beef because of the sauce. The only person that I would give stars to was the gentleman who served the popovers she smiled and chatted. The rest of the staff were so somber that you thought you were in church.
