Tiny 1-2 person place that is mostly takeout (al though they have a few seats for dinner service), with really good sushi at reasonable prices (and healthy portions). Everyone in our party agreed that their California rolls—juicy, with real crab meat—were the best we'd ever had. The mango rolls are also a standout, but pretty much everything was great. Also convenient for those eating gluten-free (both the California rolls and miso soup are GF, both of which are often made with gluten).

Pleasant environment and attentive chef. Good value for money. Sushi quality was average.
It said it was open and it’s not.
I’d give six stars if I could! This place makes you feel like you’re in a Japanese nook. Came here and it was closed not realizing how limited the hours were and called in a reservation. This guy is amazing. A one man show. This is the definition of intimate

Wayo Sushi in San Francisco was a great experience! The waitress was very attentive, and the sushi was fresh and full of flavor. I had two rolls and sashimi, and everything was delicious.

Amazing sushi and amazing place.
This restaurant has been in the same spot for over 20 years and now I know why. The quality of the fish is just amazing!

Says it’s open until 8, when you get there the door is locked with a sign that says reservations required. Upon calling and going to their website, there is no response and additionally no link to make a reservation. Poor experience.
Truly a MasterClass in Sushi. As a comparison point I've been to some high end sushi stops in Japan and there are not many that come close to the expertise, quality, and class that is shown off.
When we attended Wayo Sushi, there was only one employee who was our chef and waiter. I am still beyond impressed with the speed and attentiveness he showed while there were other tables to attend to.
It's a small quiet shop, reservations are required but it makes a perfect date night.

Quality sushi at much more reasonable prices. A one-man show in a small but comforting place. Enjoyed the takeout last time and decided to reserve a table. Toro available! A couple of the mango rolls offer a nice kick. Will be back.

Wayo is our favorite sushi spot in the city. Besides having great sushi, it’s extremely unique. There are only a few tables, it’s reservation only and the chef doubles as the server and host. The prices are extremely fair especially for the quality of fish we’ve had there.

This restaurant needs to update their operating hours on google. Should not say you’re open if it’s take out only.
Hours incorrect — came at 1p and it was closed

I wish this was specified on Google maps... You can only eat here if you set up a reservation. We showed up hoping this was a regular place to eat. While we looked for another place to eat outside the closets restaurant, a few more folks showed up thinking the same thing haha
