WenChang is a winner. I was staying a couple blocks away and stumbled upon this nondescript neighborhood eatery, and I’m so glad I did. The food and prices were great. The crispy honey sesame chicken was a treat. I’m not a big fan of sweet dishes, but this plate was loaded with nice pieces of chicken, fried to perfection with the perfect mixture of sweetness and sesame. The soup dumplings are another must-try dish—savory and juicy. The vegetable chow mein was
fresh and not overly cooked. They have two prices for many entrees: cash and credit card. So make sure to bring cash for the best prices.

Hole in the wall place. We ordered xiaolongbao, four season fried noodles, and wok vegetables for lunch. Everything hit my nostalgia spots just fine: especially the noodle made me feel I was back to college. Xiaolongbao is not Ding Tai Fung's quality, but at half the price. This place is cash only, quite small. I like the place: the squished space reminded me of my college days as well. Service was fast.

Super quick service, amazing food, huge portions, and lots of veg options. Best Chinese spot in the Richmond, and deserves so much more hype! It gets bustling around dinner time, so go early if you want to nab a seat inside!

WOW !!!
Just go and enjoy the food !!! If you’re looking for an authentic home cooked Chinese food, this could be your place. The food we ordered ranks high up there with other popular restaurants so the reviews are correct. I also liked that it’s in a quiet neighborhood and it appears to be family run. Buy the way, bring cash 🙂. Perhaps n the future, consider putting a credit card payment option.
We really enjoyed the food, thank you !!!

So this is quite the little neighborhood find. Little hole in the wall type chi ese eatery with everything done well. Is it the best dim sum or Cantonese food you've had, no, but really quite good. I will go again, because it is easy to park, versus their bigger, badder brothers/sisters on Clement or Geary, and food is just good, homemade tasting and clean. I went with my buddies and we were all nicely surprised. Will go again when in the area.

Great local spot! We love the soup dumplings, crispy chicken, green beans, and lumpia. But really if anything on the menu is calling out to ya, get it! It’s a great spot both to eat in or order out

Amazing food! Reasonable prices. Little neighbourhood spot, very simple and old school decor, which adds to the charm. Food was Quick and delicious, big portions and great quality! We had the honey sesame chicken, pork and shrimp Shui mai, soup dumplings, and beef and broccoli. Everything was SO GOOD!

Pretty good hole in the wall spot. Food was average. The noodles dish was a great size, but the soup dumplings were tiny. No free tea and no chili oil for the dumplings.

I hate to give them 3 stars but looking at these raving reviews, I feel like I was the unlucky one. Ordered veg fried rice but it was one of the bad fried rice I had in a long time. The rice was lumpy, no vegetables at all, definitely not enough sauces and not mixed thoroughly.
Paying $17.99, I would definitely expect a little more than panda express.

The honey sesame chicken was life changing. So crispy, saucy, and delicious. The hot and sour soup is some of the best I’ve had, along with the eggplant. Very flavorful dishes with huge portions. You will get your money’s worth and have plenty of leftovers.

Came here for dinner around 7pm on a Friday. No wait. Local neighborhood vibe. Cute and cozy. Eggplant with chicken dish was better than their dumplings and xiao long bao, in my opinion. Staff were very nice. Would come again. Cash only. Residential parking.
