I wanted to get a reservation at the restaurant and called the # provided on Yelp (415-673-9900). That # dumped me into the reservation line for the Hotel Beresford (I presume the restaurant is in the hotel?). The reservation clerk could not provide me the # for the hotel front desk or the restaurant. I did some Googling and found a different # for the hotel (415-673-2600). I spoke to someone at the front desk who informed me the restaurant was closed due to COVID. I advised the person that the # on Yelp for the restaurant was not only incorrect, but also showed the restaurant to be open for business. The person then hung up on me. I'll let those reading this review draw their own conclusions about the quality of the Hotel Beresford and its White Horse Tavern.

This is clearly one of the most attractive place to eat in the neighborhood. Whenever I visit this place I am incredibly happy. They always keep their very high level service and the highest level of cooking they serve. You no doubt will love this place. Very recommended.

We stayed in the Beresford Hotel (attached) and for our first night we ate in the White Horse. There was eight of us and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Ribs, chicken wings, Steaks, a cottage pie, whow, very good. Also the beer was first class, I personally loved the Firestone. It was so good we came back for our second night and ate there again.

A warm atmosphere. Reasonable and good food on offer as well as drinks, of course. The beer was good but one thing I did not like was their diet coke. It was the fountain type and was weak and tasted of chlorine to me. (Maybe just the SF water?) It can get crowded. Also has a bar-type shuffleboard table.
