Cute & hip German-inspired pub for beer and grub. Offers some vegan and gluten-free food options.
Nice ambience, with lots of natural wood. Lots of seating at long picnic tables, which suit the atmosphere perfectly but get uncomfortable after a while. Cool decor.

Edit: coming back to edit this response from 3 to one Star for the Catty response to my review. This solidifies why we won’t be coming back. If you can’t bother hearing critical feedback, don’t ask for it.

I am coming here because I filled out their “how we did” in the restaurant, and never got a response—

Another restaurant plagued by “shrinkflation”.

First off, staff and atmosphere are fine- attentive, friendly, welcoming (it’s in the name) and is a nice indoor “Biergarten”.

My partner and I went there last week, and have been coming here for a few years now. We noticed right off the bat that the menu had changed. “Oh nice, new menu!” NOPE. You are now paying just as much, if not more, for half the food. The sausages no longer come with chips or any side for that matter, they are a German restaurant that charges extra for sauerkraut (wasn’t told it was extra now after mentioning that the SF style used to have sauerkraut on it and I would like it on there), and the salad no longer has vegetables, lentils, or cheese slices with it, and is a ghost of its former self, not to mention they put strawberries and an EXTREMELY SPICY ground mustard vinegarette together; the flavor combo was terrible— for $22. Will not be recommending Willkommen to guests or tourists that come to SF. Womp womp.

Sorry, but that's a joke. Basically it's a self-service restaurant with restaurant prices.

The food is a mix of American-German and nothing good comes of it. If you want to serve German, please serve it properly. If not, then not.

But this is just not good, from the ambience to the beer to the food.

Good food and friendly people

Staff is awesome, it’s a great clean and fun space. I’d say the food and beer is 7/10, but this is more than made up for by the environment.

They might offer their employees health benefits and use ethically sourced high quality meats (I hope) and I know this is $an Franci$co, but something is wrong when a sausage costs $22.

They could at least allow you to call in to-go orders so that you don’t have to give $4 to DoorDash just to have it ready when you get there.

Very disappointed with our recent visit to Willkommen. The Happy Hour advertised on the website was misrepresented. Only a select group of beers and appetizers are available. Of the five discounted beers, only two were available when we arrived. On our previous visit in October the Brussel Sprouts were delicious, tonight the recipe was different and the taste....meh. So sad, we truly enjoyed both the food value and service on our previous visits.

Great selection of German beer and good sausage. Wish they had a few more beer selections, especially some Belgian and more IPAs.

Threw a party for some friends coming in from out of town—people loved the venue!. Food was awesome and they accommodated a guest with a restrictive diet.

I want to echo the positive experience of setting up the party with Victoria. It was really easy to plan and the staff were incredibly welcoming.

Thank you for the wonderful night!

Food is expensive for what it is. Beers were a miss for me, but others may appreciate the options available more.

Went to this spot and was seriously disappointed. They were out of multiple beverages, and my server kept coming back because everything was unavailable. The seating is terrible - just uncomfortable benches where early arrivals take up the entire space.

The worst part? The staff's lack of attentiveness. My server seemed completely clueless, taking 10 minutes just to order a simple drink. She didn't even seem to know what was on tap. When I was ready to close out, she made eye contact but didn't approach me.

The food looked decent, but we were only there for drinks. Weird vibes all around. Definitely not coming back.

The food felt very just cheap and lacked finesse. I had the Schnitzel and it was so thin it turned into a hard crunchy mess versus having any amount of tender meat inside. All the ketchup had curry added into it. 18 dollars for three pretzels is excessive. And when I specifically asked about Hefeweissen to drink was told that they didnt have one, only to find it in a can in their fridge. It was a decent meal, but not one id repeat.

Had a great time and loved the food and drink options. Something for everyone. Plus they had fun games for the family to play.
