Visited in December 2024, looking for flaky fried taro dim sum.
When we inquired about the taro, we were told that they did have the dish. It was in the wrong form: steamed skin instead of fried with flaky edges

The steamed taro dumpling with ground meat is okay, not amazing. The right filling, but we wanted the fried ones.

We had just purchased multiple boxes of dim sum from 2 other shops so we didn't try anything else. Maybe...
Small place that serves food by weight (rice, noodles...etc). The dim sum were per unit. The food was delicious and cheap. The place had a few tables to eat, but it is old and dirty looking, But if you're looking for cheap food in SF's Chinatown, you'll find it here.
We stopped here to pick up dim sum on our way to the San Francisco Airport. It was really good even though we visited at the end of the day. For those that don't know, dim sum is a breakfast/ brunch meal of various dumplings and Chinese pastries, and it is best fresh. Because it was late in the day, the proprietor piled food onto us so as to get rid of it. It is tricky ordering food unless you speak Mandarin or Cantonese, but pointy talky works well enough to get you fed....
