“Chicken Tikka Masala (in a bowl, with white rice instead of brown) - The chicken could have stayed on the grill for an extra minute or two. The Tikka Masala curry was phenomenal - had the right spices, perfect amount of tomato sauce, and quite strong! The curry was contrasted with a white yogurt raita, which contrasted quite well with the umami-ness and the curry. Love the mints and cilantro, made it look very refreshing. The marinated and pickled cucumbers, I felt, had hints of sesame oil.
The pickled cabbages were a great addition to its refreshing dish. Overall, it was a great balance of the strong flavors of the curry and yogurt, and keeping the refreshing profile of the dish.
*I have had this multiple times. The pickling of the cabbage can be inconsistent. The white rice can sometimes be too soggy. The curry was pretty consistent throughout.
FINAL REMARKS: Would come here again for the aforementioned dish.“

“I ordered via grubhub so can't comment on service or atmosphere. But the food was 10/10. I got the hummus, muhammra, falafel. Hummus and Muhammra came with Bite sized pitas. I also got their hot sauce and it was fire!! Loved everything, great for vegetarians too!!“

“This café is an absolute find! Not only are the salads and sandwiches delicious, but they have the best pesto I’ve ever tasted—fresh, flavorful, and a game-changer on every bite. Whether you’re into turkey, chicken, or vegetarian options, the pesto brings everything to life.
What really makes this place stand out is how affordable it is! You get gourmet-quality sandwiches at prices that don’t break the bank. The portions are generous too, so it’s great value for money.
The café is also super conveniently located, making it perfect for a quick bite or lunch break. And with a cozy vibe and friendly staff, it’s a place you'll want to keep coming back to. Definitely a hidden gem—highly recommend!“

“I’d been trying to find a place that sold Dubai chocolate bars in San Francisco and finally found it at Cafe Elena! Their Dubai chocolate bar is awesome! Dark chocolate, pistachio filling, not too sweet. Family-owned business, wife makes the chocolate bars, super friendly owner.“

“Delicious, robust and oversized salad (actually a good deal for the price), PLUS the staff couldn’t be nicer, especially front of house.
This is like a mini behind the scenes food hall, where you can order these gorgeous salads, or: soups; mezze dishes etc. It’s a fun and unique spot. So glad to have found this while visiting my hometown!“

“I have to give a huge shoutout to our server, Kubra. From the moment we sat down, she was attentive, friendly, and professional. Kubra made excellent recommendations from the menu, and she truly knew the dishes inside and out, which helped us make great choices. She was consistently checking in to make sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive, and her timing was impeccable throughout the meal. It felt like she genuinely cared about our dining experience. Kubra’s warm and welcoming demeanor made our visit so enjoyable, and her dedication to service is a credit to the restaurant. Highly recommend requesting Kubra if you want an exceptional dining experience!"“

“We stopped in here for lunch while walking in the area. Good selection of sandwiches. I ordered a ruben sandwich and my wife had a chicken philly with fries. Everything tasted great. Cool murals on the wall. Friendly staff and helpful. Recommend this place for a good meal.“
“Small restaurant with a good selection. It's less crowded compared to Cafe Rosso, which is close by, but way more busy. I recommend getting a street style taco plate. It costs about $10, but will cost $3 more if you choose beef. You get three tacos, rice, and beans, and some sauces. It's enough to fill you up if you're really hungry. In an earlier visit, I had a Taza original smoothie which cost $6.46 after tax. It tasted fruity and slightly bitter. There were also peanut butter smoothies. There were tables and chairs if you'd like to sit. If you're in a hurry and just want a drink, there's a drink fridge. Everything is pricier than from the cafes around SFSU, but seems to be not much better. I recommend sticking to their foods if you decide to spend money here.“

“Generous portions of flavorful food. Bathroom clean, seating comfortable. We will definitely eat here again. Service was a bit hands off, more of a ‘see us at the counter if you need something’.
Dietary restrictions: Nut free
Kid-friendliness: Lots of space and cozy bench seating.“

“Wow, Earls is amazing!!! We were celebrating a brithday and Olivia, the customer experience rep, made the birthday girl feel so special with a hand written card and a Prosecco toast! Our waitress was Kealey who was also fabulous and made sure we always had what we needed. Everything tasted incredible, but the stars of the show were the Prawn Sushi Tacos and the White Chocolate Crème Brûlée!“
