The sever handled a busy store opening by themselves serving very well. At least 10 tables. He would constantly check in on us. Give us descriptions of each item he served. The skewers were amazing like always and loved the ginger hot sake! Definitely will be back

It would have been nice to eat here if we didn’t have to wait OVER 4 HOURS. We put in a reservation for 6 people around 5:45PM and were told to come back at 7:12PM. Our party waited for ages as other parties came and went. It wasn’t until it was almost 9:00 that we were told by the host at the entrance that they were waiting on a table so that they could combine it with the one in the back (there was a table of 5 that was empty the entire time). Time continued to pass and our party was getting increasingly tired and hangry. We even heard that they were running out of items on the menu.

It was almost 10 when we decided to go to a neighboring restaurant that had availability so we could finally get something to eat. Once we sat down, Edomasa FINALLY contacted us to let us in. But we decided against going after all as we had heard that the kitchen was backed up (while we were waiting) and the food would take forever to get to us.

Seriously, Edomasa. Why use Yelp reservations to tell us to come back at a certain time when in actuality you don’t honor it and make us wait for so many hours??

Tasty yakitori spot in Japantown mall. Delicious grilled seafood skewers and other classic treats served in a chic setting. The food is delicious and authentic. The salmon and hamachi kama were highlights. It is a bit pricey tho so heads up. Also try to avoid peak hours or you could be in for a wait. All in all not bad, I would go back.

9.5/10. Fantastic spot to try a bunch of different proteins and veggies. Unpretentious. Relativity inexpensive for SF. Had to wait a long time both recent weekend nights visited, but worth it! Hamachi collar was excellent the first time and beef tongue is chefs kiss. Recommend the Japanese IPA 10/10. Kind servers

If you're searching for mediocre food, look no further. Edomasa has the sheen of authenticity but lukewarm execution. Come if you're desperate.

The yakitori is over cooked and over salted, especially the tsukune. The paitan soup is way too rich and served lukewarm, making the fat congeal in your mouth.

And the service is horrendous - staff completely forgot my meal despite asking the waiters for updates multiple times.

It has been a month since I ate here and I can’t stop thinking about the hamachi kama. Might be too salty for most but it was soooo good.

Every skewer we had was delicious as well!

Literally waited for 30 minutes until my set menu comes out. I was sitting at the counter for 30min as people come and go, and nobody ever checked in. Had to ask waitress for the status, and they just brought out soup and appetizer because of “delay”as I waited for another 5min until the skewers came out. This is a lunch set. How????

Karaage was dry and luke warm. Skewers were good

I saw there was lunch here, so I went in to try it.

I ordered the special lunch set for $21, which includes beef, chicken and pork belly, plus $2 I chose unagi, which comes with salad, chicken soup, potato salad, and steamed rice. The meat is very soft and delicious.

It is a great value for lunch.

The yakitori reminded me of stands near Jinjuku station in Tokyo. They are very flavorful and grilled to perfection. The ambiance is calm, cool and vey Japanese. Service was efficient. Price was very reasonable. It is definitely a place you want to stop by and enjoy with friends or alone. It is quiet even when place is full. People seem to talk quieter than other places. Compatible with the ambiance. I really loved it and will definitely make trip to Japan town for this place again.

Surprisingly delicious yakitori with great services! We went during lunch time and they were only offering the set menu which was a bit disappointing or I would’ve order a lot more extra skewers! I ordered the seafood set menu and it came with 4 skewers (unagi, shrimp, salmon, scallops), a salad, a bowl of flavourful steamed rice, a bowl of chicken broth, small dish of potato salad and an appetizer of your choice which I chose the chicken karaage. The skewers were all very delicious especially the eel which was crispy flavourful and juicy. They put lots of ingredients in the steamed rice as well which was very detail oriented!

Chicken was dry. :/ not worth the price. Tourist trap. Busser came by our table every few minutes to ask to take our plates and kept interrupting our conversation.
