It is endearing how Michelle (the waitress) remembers all of her customer's name. Yamo is a small eight seat counter style restaurant ran by a daughter and mother team. My Burmese tea salad $9 and chicken house noodles $9 were delicious. A lot of flavor. It is great for the price. There was a 30 minutes wait at 7:30pm on a Monday. Excellent dinner tonight.

The house noodles were to die for. Also tried the mango salad but that was a miss.
Amazing food, made with love unlike many of the restaurants around including the ‘upscale’ ones.

Wonderful! Would dine again. I noticed how none of the self proclaimed San Francisco “natives” tipped, and barely if at all. Sad. People need to be more generous with their tips here, especially when the food is priced so well for the value. I left a good tip and the lady was taken back, “is that for me?”

We love Yamo! Quick, delicious, and affordable which is rarer and rarer these days. Be prepared to wait if you want to dine in unless you arrive a few minutes before opening. My partner’s favorite is the house noodle, and I oscillate in between the mushroom and black bean tofu dishes, as well as the veggie curry (don’t forget to mention your choice of noodles or rice!)

I had my first house noodle bowl ten or so years ago. I went again today and it was just as good as I remember. I love the folks that run it, they are so great.

Good food, good price, good service. All in all, good. Tried Chicken House Noodles, Cold Noodles with spicy chicken, Spinach Noodles with Tofu, and Black Bean Fish with Noodles. My favorite was the Cold Noodles, followed by the Chicken House Noodles, then the spinach noodles and lastly the Black Bean Fish. Each dish was $9 and total was $36 cash.

Super small place but worth it, if you have to wait. Absolutely get their tea salad and house noodles but everything was delicious. Service was quick and prices were great.

Went here about 7 or 8 years ago when I was visiting SF. Came prepared with what I wanted to order and did my best to be a good patron and not upset the staff and still got screamed at for no discernible reason. And then the food wasn't even good.
Terrible experience all around. Complete waste of time and money.

Delicious food and friendly staff. Feels very authentic and unique, as if someone opened up their home kitchen to you. It's the kind of place Anthony Bourdain would visit on his show.

For $5 appetizers and $9 meals it's wonderful value for the city. The noodles we're good. Had a takeout of their yamo house noodle woth beef. Food was good. My friend got the black bean fish and said it lacked flavor. He was hungry as well... cash only

Left a five star review 8 years ago, and I stand by it. This little Burmese greasy spoon is always great and super cheap. Even if the ladies behind the counter seem generally uninterested in having you there. Perhaps that's half the appeal. Worth the short wait to get a seat. Bring cash!
