It is endearing how Michelle (the waitress) remembers all of her customer's name. Yamo is a small eight seat counter style restaurant ran by a daughter and mother team. My Burmese tea salad $9 and chicken house noodles $9 were delicious. A lot of flavor. It is great for the price. There was a 30 minutes wait at 7:30pm on a Monday. Excellent dinner tonight.
Wonderful! Would dine again. I noticed how none of the self proclaimed San Francisco “natives” tipped, and barely if at all. Sad. People need to be more generous with their tips here, especially when the food is priced so well for the value. I left a good tip and the lady was taken back, “is that for me?”
We love Yamo! Quick, delicious, and affordable which is rarer and rarer these days. Be prepared to wait if you want to dine in unless you arrive a few minutes before opening. My partner’s favorite is the house noodle, and I oscillate in between the mushroom and black bean tofu dishes, as well as the veggie curry (don’t forget to mention your choice of noodles or rice!)
