I don't mind splurging on a high quality meal such as Morton's or Mastros or Flemings. This was not on that caliber. It was a pre fix menu ($120/pp) for Thanksgiving and the food was not good. The filet steaks were good and I have no complaints about the filet or salmon however everything else was sub par. I would have rather gone to Mod pizza. The gnocchi was not cooked all the way through. The waiter strongly suggested I get the turkey dinner. The turkey was dry. For 2 adults and 2 children, the bill was $525.00.... I was so sad. The wait staff was very kind and attentive. The value of the meal was predatory. Preying on SF tourists on Thanksgiving.
We stayed at The Donatello, whose room service is provided by Zingari.
We ordered $129 worth of food and drinks. When the meals arrived, it was very clear that it was very overpriced for what we were receiving.
I ended up being charged $181.95 for this with a number of hidden fees and taxes, with no mention of this on their website or when we called to ordered, including a $5 room service fee and a SF mandate of $6.70. The worst of it was a 20% gratuity fee which was compulsory - gratuity should never be forced upon you, and certainly not when the actual service provided is limited given we weren't actually dining in their restaurant. We had been told by the front desk at The Donatello that hotel customers would receive a 10% discount at Zingari - this was not applied.
I was horrified by the >$50 add-on to the bill we were anticipating and raised this with staff, who were unable to help. The initial price was already a massive overcharge for what was received; $181.95 is ridiculous beyond belief.
Very deceptive behaviours and a very disappointing experience.
I had some business on Lombard Street, and did much better than I expected so I decided to go downtown and get some pasta, I was going to go see Wingfoot Charlie but missed my street, and did an illegal left turn and ended up right in front of Zingari Steakhouse & Pasta Restaurant...what luck! I was in the mood for some seafood pasta, so I asked for something resembling scampi and a baguette, and they sure delivered...home run all the way! 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆

We had the absolute pleasure of dining here while our team was in town for a medical conference, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The owner was so welcoming and genuinely hospitable, he made everyone feel like family. The food was absolutely delicious, each dish was perfectly prepared with such care, flavor, and attention to detail.
You can feel the pride and history of this family-run restaurant in every aspect - from the warmth of the service to the exceptional quality of the food. A wonderful evening from start to finish. Highly recommend!

The food and service was top notch. We dined here before a performance at the Curran theater (very convenient) and will definitely return. I highly recommend!
Great people oustanding service!!
Booked a group dinner at Zingari through OpenTable and later learned of $300 hidden fees and a $500 minimum spend that were never disclosed. I canceled immediately after receiving days in advance. No food or service was provided, and all cancellation requests were documented in writing. Be cautious—verify all fees and terms before booking this feels more like a scam than a restaurant experience.
Restaurant was just okay. Prices too high for level of service, ambience and food quality. My husband ordered the Osso Bucco and got only 2 bites of meat. My Parpadelle was okay.
Made us wait for more than 1 hour, despite having a booking
Food was ok, but the amount of it was very small, had to eat somewhere else after that
Overcharged with some superficial line items
Definitely would not recommend coming there

I chose to visit here yesterday after arriving for the Dreamforce conference. I ordered the Rigatoni con Salsiccia it was perfect. I am very picky when it comes to pasta. The sauce to pasta ratio is a fine line, and they hit it. I also enjoyed the Old Fashioned with the walnut bitters, also very tasty.

Booked a group dinner at Zingari and was later hit with a $300 cancellation fee despite canceling a full week in advance.
Their written cancellation policy says cancellations made 7 days prior incur $50 per person, but the restaurant waited until late at night exactly 7 days before to send me undisclosed “minimums” and fee-heavy menu options — well after I had already requested cancellation multiple times. Then, even after confirming I would not be attending, they processed a charge anyway.
This restaurant operates on hidden fees, last-minute fine print, and refusal to honor clear cancellation requests. It feels intentionally deceptive — presenting normal reservations as flexible, then turning them into expensive “contracts.”
If you value transparency or professionalism, avoid this place. There are plenty of honest, quality Italian restaurants in San Francisco that won’t treat guests like this.

Unprepared staff Bad food quality Dirty and bad maintenance of the premises I don't know how this place have big valuation . It's not Italian restaurant is mixed America's street food with nonsense restaurant idea .
Our server Tyler, also the mixologist was amazing; knowledgeable, informative and very proactive and attentive. The Cadillac Espressotini and Lemoncello Drops were DELICIOUS!!!!! And the piano player was amazing! The food tasted delicious as well.... BUT..... My group of 4 ordered all together, waited about 30 mins. and when we all got our food, my husband's was wrong. They were out of what he wanted and he had to reorder something else; which took another 30 mins..... Everyone else was done eating before his food came out.
For the prices for the food, AND having to pay $15 a person to listen to the live piano, sadly, I feel like it wasn't quite worth the price for everything. The lack of communication and efficiency from the kitchen drops my rating greatly for this place. Not likely to come here again, except for the drinks from Tyler only.
Our bill was almost $400 after everything and thats after getting a round of free drinks a 10% discount for their mess up. NOT WORTH IT.
