Hands down my favorite place for tacos. As someone from Mexico City, it is often hard to find tacos that look and taste like the real deal. Go for the Carnitas or Al Pastor tacos! They’re heaven to me.

So i did take out. Chile verde, BIG MISTAKE. I dined there many moons ago and had a mediocre experience, but wanted to give it a second chance. It was worse. The Chile verde was chicken, so, well ok, but assumed that it was going to be pork. I don't know any place in town that doesn't defer to pork and additionally mention that it's chicken, but not the end of the world. I love refried beans, but this was like old, reused/reheated from last week. The beans were not creamy and flavourful, rather meally and dry. The melted cheese was half hard, like plastic, the other half was chewy, not melty, stringy and soft at all. The chicken in the verde was dry and seemed again old/leftover from the previous week. So dry, and it tasted like they just threw chicken in sauce versus steeped/braised in green goodness. The verde itself was simplistic in the sense that there was only a bright, acidic spice/heat note, no salt or umami from onion/garlic, just a jalapeño note.
Will not go back unless I am starving. Might try something else to see if they can execute carne asada, or burrito, but not running there soon. Very disappointed.

Ideal for a quick bite to eat whilst exploring Castro and mission district, staff were really lovely & we got chips whilst we waited. Super reasonably priced and would visit again!

I loved that they have legit corn tortillas! ✌? we had the burrito chingon and tacos al pastor and they felt super Mexican! Loved it

Food was OK. Overly salted carnitas, OK beans. Tasted like they dumped the Morton salt in the pot. Cook may have hypogeusia cause holy! I tried to save it with extra lime, but just couldn't finish it.

Now, I know that they would've exchanged the food for me, but I was in a hurry. So order carnitas at your own risk.

The food needs some work, but I'll come back in a few months since they are newish. I have faith in them ??

Family owned restaurant with the delish freshly made guacamole and salsas. The grandmother makes the best pollo verde in town. Burrito bowls are great. We eat here at least once a week. Love this place.
