Excellent food and service. Very good atmosphere. Staff remembered that I indicated that this was a birthday dinner and put a candle in our desert. I wonderful and memorable experience.
The food at Zuni is always delicious, especially the salads and desserts. Our server Elayna was lovely.
Old times friends from Marin (2), San Francisco (1) and Contra Costa (1) meeting on the only weekday that very sadly, Zuni remains open. Thus tough commute home for most of us. Always the biggest and freshest selection of oysters anywhere. We ordered more than one round of multiple kinds of oysters. Beyond that a drink; everyone opted for a hamburger (which was unusual but of course very satisfactory) so this is not your usual review!; coffees. Outstanding waitperson. Note: We did make a rez (weeks before-earliest we could get was 1:30). It is clear that Zuni has been written up in tour guides and the number of obvious out-of-towners appreciating Zuni was huge and amazing. Lots of people in general. Lots. We all have been going to Zuni since it opened years ago and at least it has survived the pandemic and the lack of workers in the City. So many restaurants collapsed and so many no longer serve lunch or like Zuni are only open on one or two days. Pathetic.
Expectations were high for our first time, and Zuni exceeded than all. From the ambiance to the friendly pro service and great wine list, it was all so intentional. Then came the melon salad and best ever roast chicken. We can't wait to have another 2 hour lunch there.
A San Francisco classic well worth re-visiting. For me, it was probably 30 years between trips. But there's nothing aged or tired about Zuni. Still feels like a living, breathing, vivacious place to be.
Zuni did not disappoint despite being a busy Pride day ! our reserved table was ready quickly and we had the great service to be expected.
We had the crudo fish dish which was excellent, a salad with melon which was okay and the thin fries which were fine. BUT the waitress who was attentive asked if we wanted catsup and aioli and got both and they charged for the aioli. She asked if I wanted wine and I said yes a white wine. She said they had a nice glass of chabli (which was okay) and they charged $26. I thought it was a mistake and they had charged for the bottle but, no, it was the price for the glass of wine. I think the waitress should have mentioned the price when she recommended it!! So that was my experience at Zuni.
Always a good meal and great people watching outside at Zuni. Even more so on Pride Weekend.
Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food. Service was very attentive. Looking forward to eating at Zuni again

We made reservations at Zuni to attend the Roy Choi cookbook event and it was phenomenal. The staff (hostess, chef, waitress) were great. My husband and I definitely want to come back and try their food.
Only reason I'm saying four stars is that now they've added an automatic 20% gratuity on top of the 5% SF mandate. I get that you have to compensate for people who might never tip, but I always tip 20% anyway, but I hate the automatic-the service definitely doesn't feel the same, less personalized and more cookie cutter.
Be warned : the chicken is very very sour , or maybe it is my problem of having a sensitive taste?

Good drink list, classic dishes
Overpriced. Was very busy on Sunday for brunch and had to repeatedly call the server. Food was average.
20% gratuity is included even for 2.
