Be warned : the chicken is very very sour , or maybe it is my problem of having a sensitive taste?

Good drink list, classic dishes

Overpriced. Was very busy on Sunday for brunch and had to repeatedly call the server. Food was average.
20% gratuity is included even for 2.

3 of us were seated in a very narrow corner and it was not enough room to place all the dishes and we were eating elbow to elbow. There was a much suited 4 person table and was empty the ENTIRE time but they didn’t want to move us. The food was average and we had to send back the onion soup back since it is way too salty. Lastly, they won’t take credit card tab / Apple Pay - found this very outdated in San Francisco and consider this as a finer restaurant. Won’t be back again

Cozy restaurant with fine food made of the best produce. However, I can’t help but think I could have made just as delicious chicken and salad at home myself 🤷🏻‍♀️

Usually when I dine out, I like to try something new or go places that offer dishes I wouldn’t be able to easily make at home.

I’ve wanted to visit Zuni ever since I was an undergrad (over 15 years now), and I’m glad to have experienced the cozy hospitality. However, there are much more interesting restaurants at this price point. If prices were 20% lower, I would have left a little less disappointed about the experience.

What happened, Zuni? I come 2-3x a year and yesterday’s visit was so sad. I do appreciate you honored my table request. Server wasn’t very friendly. Bland manhattan, is that a thing? Server took out glasses before me and my friend could enjoy our cherry at the end. TEICE! The shoestrings and Ceasar were pretty good but my beloved Zuni chicken was sad. The bread salad was so charred in spots and it wasn’t well dressed at all. I felt so disappointed. Then, my bag of leftovers had someone’s half eaten burger in it. So all the extra chicken I had got wasted because I wasn’t convinced it was mine. Wasn’t worth the $400 this time.

Intentionally, unfairly, and deceptively lists prices on the menu. Due to their dishonesty, 1 star.

In the future please include honest pricing (no b.s. "sf mandate") and perhaps the rating would change.

Food is consistently good but without any creativity. Alaskan halibut was served with boiled potatoes, carrots and green beans. Tasty risotto and Classic Caesar salad. All done well but nothing out of this world.

Service was rather inattentive. Took a while to get servers’ attention to order and also to get the check. It’s amusing that restaurant automatically charges 20% for this type of service, regardless of the number of diners at the table. +5% SF mandate!

While the space is nicely arranged it was very cold upstairs (our experience at the restaurant was at the end of November). We had to put out jackets back on at some point. For a restaurant of this caliber I feel the heater could be turned on a little more.

Overall: somewhere between 3.5 to 4.0 for this experience

Great experience overall and the food was amazing. However, the dishes were very small. The cod had only a little piece of cod and the gnocchi had about 10 pieces only.

I’d prefer to pay a higher price and get a bigger portion.

Also, automatic 25% tip seems like a lot

We went for dinner and had high expectations because of the overall good reviews. The venue is beautiful but we got dissappointed with the food, that wasn’t really special as some others claim in the reviews. Small portions and the taste was OK, nothing noteworthy. The price is simply ridiculous for what you get, especially since they automatically charge you 25% extra! How is that even legal? We ended up paying $230 for a very average meal and felt bad about the value for money. We won’t be coming here again.

Still a classic SF bistro, standards remain high, solid food but service stiff, distant, definitely not fun. And even after the obligatory 6% health fee, 20% mandatory service fee and 8.75% tax they still have gumption to prompt you for “additional gratuity”. Does it ever stop? Left a bad taste in the mouth as the saying goes…

Like San Francisco itself, this absolute charmer is constantly revealing new nooks. The food is always perfect and the vibe is even better.

Avoid the bar, worst cocktails in San Fran. Food is passable but not worth the massive price tag, many better options including progression.
