Sashimi was fresh and prices are great for the portions you get.

Randomly found this place with great reviews and popped in at 7pm on a Saturday wanting to leave the crazy crowds at Fisherman's warf. They were able to seat us right away without reservations and service was spectacular. The sushi was insanely good quality and well priced. The service wasn't super fast because they only have 1 chef who was also doing an omakase seating while we were there but we had our whole meal within 1.5 hrs which we thought was normal speed. Absolutely would come back and recommend!

This restaurant was really bad. We had read good reviews and can only assume new owners. It was nearly empty at 7:30 pm on a Thursday.
Sushi was mediocre and portly presented. Slapped together and scattered. The salad, instead of ginger dressing, had bottled ranch dressing.couldn't eat it.
The soft shell crab was so overly-salted it was inedible. The tofu was covered in a corn starch sauce.
We do not rate many restaurants bad.

The sushi was exceptional and Chef Roger was amazing. We had no menu so the price was steep when the bill came so be prepared to spend a lot but worth the experience.

What an unexpectedly pleasant surprise. I’ve lived around the neighborhood for 4 years, but only stepped in by coincidence today. I wanted to sit at the chef's counter just because I thought it'd be a cooler to watch. Little did I know I stumbled upon an accidental omakase experience. It was such a delight and honestly felt like an immersive theater experience where each of the other guests also played a character and we were all moderated by the incredibly entertaining and opinionated Chef Roger Chong. I would definitely go back, but make sure to leave enough space in your stomach because it was a lot of food.

Run, don’t walk, to Zushi Puzzle - especially if you like a true Anthony Bourdain experience. Make a reservation at the bar with Roger. Come on weeknight - like a Monday or Tuesday.
Enjoy the Echigo beer.
Let Roger create the experience for you. He sources the freshest, most interesting and unique, fish from Korea, Scotland and Japan. I’ve had great omakase experiences in LA, Seattle, DC, Miami and NY - and Zushi Puzzle in San Francisco is the best.
The space is unassuming - which only makes it better. Roger makes everything himself, including the incredible dessert (Wagyu fat popcorn ice cream, mango sorbet, black sesame ice cream).

Read the reviews to the superb little sushi place. The owner/chef is very entertaining with made our early dinner pleasurable from a distance. The bar seating area was preoccupied by patrons dining so we did nit get the full experience. Either way. It was a great dining experience. I ordered a tempura chicken appetizer with lemon wedges on the side. The combination was terrific. Fresh and tasty! The salmon sushi roll can with avocado, cucumber, and wasabi / fresh ginger too. Great combination!! Filling but not too filling. I would recommend this place to sushi lovers.

Probably the best value sushi I’ve had in the city so far! Although the summary says $100+, the rolls average $14. Each roll unique in flavor, texture, and experience. All delightful

Roger is incredible. His passion and love for flavors and his craft come through with every bite. This will be our new go-to sushi spot. Call and get reservations at the counter for omakase! It’s the best. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Best Omasake experience I have ever had. Roger is a master and the best. He is a treasure. Would recommend it. For regular sushi experience or Omasake. You will feel like you are at home while at the same time been with an expert. Fish is fresh and well made.

Heard about this place from some friends. The Omakase that Chef Roger served us was incredible. Had some very unique items that you don't normally see at a sushi restaurant. Highly recommend this place.
