My partner and I went to Blossom Market Hall to grab a coffee and couldn't help but be intrigued by the delicious smells coming from Ish's stand. We've been there a few times, but the first time we went, he had made a pumpkin scone that is absolutely one of the best pastries I've ever had. The texture was exactly how a scone is supposed to be: an initial crunch, but soft and pillowy on the inside, not hard and crumbly like many scones at other bakeries.

We have tried a total of 5-6 different items now, and every single one of them has been a delight to eat. None of his pastries are overly sweet, honoring the flavor of each, whether ube, pumpkin, or another. My only complaint is that he hasn't had the pumpkin scone the other times we've gone; it appears he changes up the menu day-to-day, which is great, but I've been really wanting that pumpkin scone again! If you are looking to indulge in a sweet treat but don't want to end up in a sugar coma, Ish's is the way to go, trust me.

BAKING WITH ISH is a small bakery stand that offer Filipino-inspired pastries, high-quality ingredients, and generous portions. Customers like myself frequently praise the unique flavors, excellent presentation, and friendly customer service. It is located in SGV plaza on Mission.

They have popular items such as ube and ensaymada pastries, and seasonal pies. Moreover, most of their pastry items are pricey which I say suck it up. Perhaps you can indulge it once every couple months.

I was taken aback by their pastries prodigious appearance and presentation. Male staff was affable, nice and professional. Overall, I recommend you visit this cute little pastry shop. So there you have it folks.

I’m here now enjoying a pumpkin flan bun compelled to share with the Google world how great this business is. Writing this review as I visit yet ANOTHER time and savor these extra calories. I still feel the same way so sharing what I said on another platform:

Time and time again, I come to support Ish and get blown away at each pastry or pie I've tried and have yet to try.

For example, today, I came in to try an ube pecan pie slice - and boom also landed with a black sesame pumpkin bun and an ube cheese pan de sal. My cravings got the best of me and how I ate the latter two pastries in under three minutes is beyond me. My senses were so strong that I am literally writing this with crumbs around my mouth. The breads were fresh, soft and delicious in every bite. Not too sweet in my opinion and you can really taste all the flavors that are described. The pillowy bite of that pan de sal is replaying in my head and I want ten more. Give him all your money and come support this wonderful exquisite baker. I've tried other things in the past two but needed to highlight this experience while it was clear in my mind.

Located in his own space right when you enter the Ramona St entrance at Blossom Market hall- the unmissable Baking with Ish sign will welcome you. You can never go wrong as there is plentiful parking spots and a variety of food, drink and dessert vendors all in one spot. It's quaint enough for a study session and big enough for a bigger group gathering. Something for everyone.

Just make sure you're aware of the open hours as he's not there everyday and while you're at it, give him a follow on Instagram @bakingwithish so you can drool over the pictures with me. I am not affiliated with him at all, just truly an avid fan of the craft and just so happy to continue supporting his small business as long as my wallet allows.

I've never experienced anything like this before at a business. I was 3 minutes early and was buried in my phone with work. The door was unlocked and I entered. I left when asked and waited outside with one other person who just arrived as I walked out. The owner slammed the door in my face, and locked it behind me. When I left a review to share what happened, instead of responding professionally as most people in the service industry would, the owner chose to reply by shaming my outfit and even gifts I had received from friends.

Rather than taking accountability or attempting to resolve the situation, they went as far as having my review removed. What started as a misunderstanding has spiraled into the current situation. This shows not only a lack of professionalism but also a lack of respect for customers.

If you're considering coming here, please think carefully. A business should welcome its customers and treat them with basic courtesy, not hostility or personal attacks. I personally will not be giving them my business again.

Never have I ever had blue corn as an ingredient in a pastry. Damn, it left me tweaking for more. I also tried to obey cinnamon roll. Left me, paralyzed, in N a decadent flavor, coma.

Definitely a go to when I’m driving down to LA area (from the Bay Area). We tried the blueberry scone & banana bread. Excited to try more baked goods and all for the Filipino inspired flavors.

I visited Baking with Ish on the day I was getting ready to fly out of LAX. I had been getting instagram recommendations on my feed for a few months (even though I don’t live in CA), and I’m glad I decided to put this place on my list to check out before I left. I got the ube sesame bun and the cheese and ube pie and both of them were fantastic. I wish I lived closer so I could come back and try more items, to be honest everything on display looked unreal. Wishing the best for Ish and team, you’re making some really amazing stuff.

Love that the pies and pastries are super fresh. Grabbed the blueberry corn muffin wrapped in banana leaf and it is the best muffin I’ve ever had. Not too sweet, super soft (big plus that it was warm when we got it), and there were random bits of banana chunks that made it such a wonderful surprise. I asked my husband to pick another one up the next day and I can’t stop thinking about it!

A deliciously sweet addition to grace the blossom hall food hall! Ish's signature pies, breads, expresso buns, cookies, cakes, are always in small batches, and has something new and in season everytime I stop by! You can taste the love and passion of these modern Filipino inspired desserts that anyone can enjoy. I will say the pies are a must!

I've liked everything so far, and though the price may be a bit steep for some, know that you are supporting a small bakery with big taste! A friend introduced me to his decadent desserts, and I've been hooked since!

I strongly suggest following the Ish Instagram page (bakingwithish) to see the latest updates and any new flavors he's concocted. They close relatively early, or until they sell out, so come early, grab a sweet bite, and be delighted!!

Eat here! It's freakin' delicious. Everything we've tried is great. Today's highlight, the corn beef pandesal. The ube jam that came with the ube cheese pandesal and brioche was really nice; think it had some salt flakes on top.

We've also ordered one of their whole pies, the mango sticky rice one. Seriously, eat here!
