Very good quality ayce dim sum. Atmosphere is on par with other restaurants in SGV. This is my new go to place. Quality is pretty close to Sea Harbour (which sets the standard), while having no wait for tables. Also more convenient parking than other restaurants.

Came here to have some dim sum on a weekend. The place was busy but not crowded. We (party of two) were seated within a couple minutes. We were given the menu and asked if we wanted the condiments and tea and we declined. A few minutes later they brought out the tea and condiments that we had previously declined (they charge $6 just for a small tray of chili sauce).

We waited about 15 minutes to have our order taken and no one came by. We walked up to one of the staff and asked them if we could order our food and told them again that we don’t want the tea and sauce. they told us to just leave them on the table and walked away. Multiple staff just standing around or visiting other tables briefly.

After about another 10 minutes of waiting and trying to get their attention we left. The service here is terrible, didn’t even get to try the food since never got to place an order.

Our 2nd time here and the quality and taste of some of the food that we had last time had sadly declined. Baked bbq pork bun didn't have enough fillings, stuffed bean curd taste kinda weird. I didn't like the texture of the minced meat in it. The noodles were bland and oily. The fried rice wasn't up to par as the way Chinese would prepare it. The rice was kinda soggy. Like it wasn't cooked in a high fire wok as it should be. It was bland too. The steamed bbq pork bun didn't have that much filling either. Food that I can recommend was the BBQ Hibernian pork, HK custard, Siomai ...so...so..I had better. And a lot of there steameddumplings had a very thick wrapping that I couldn't eat, because your gonna get full with it. Sorry forgot to take photo of it. I was gonna introduce this Bistro to my family and friendsbut, sadly because of these experience I won't be taking them here anymore or recommend this place.

Updated Review!!!
Bistro 1968 – Classic Dim Sum with a Modern Touch

I visited Bistro 1968 for brunch on Mother’s Day weekend with my parents, and we were excited to try their dim sum offerings in a modern setting that still honors traditional flavors.

🥢 What We Ordered:
We went with the à la carte option instead of their All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) menu. For dim sum, we ordered:
Shrimp Har-Gow, Pork and Shrimp Siu Mai, House Special Crispy Shrimp Roll, Shrimp Rice Noodle, Jumbo Sticky Rice Wrap, Baked Snow Capped BBQ Pork Buns, and Creamy Egg Yolk Bao.

📋 Pricing Info:

AYCE is available at $19.99 per person on weekdays and $25.99 per person on weekends/holidays.

AYCE includes the condiments and tea fee.

For à la carte diners (like us), there’s a $2 per person charge for condiments and tea.

🌟 Highlights:
The restaurant was very clean, and the servers were attentive throughout our meal. The ambiance blends traditional dim sum charm with a sleek, modern vibe.

The standout dishes were the House Special Crispy Shrimp Roll—a unique item I haven’t seen elsewhere—and the Baked Snow Cap BBQ Pork Bun, which reminded me of Tim Ho Wan’s version but was larger and honestly, better.

⚠️ Areas for Improvement:
The food took a while to come out, but that’s often the trade-off for freshly made dishes. The only real downside was the parking situation—the garage is small and fills up quickly, and free street parking is very limited in the area.

💡 Tips:

Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends and holidays.

Arrive early to secure parking or be ready to walk a bit.

Credit cards accepted.

À la carte diners should factor in the extra $2 per person for tea and condiments.

Great spot for a relaxing dim sum brunch with a modern twist.

Old review from before

Went here this past Wednesday afternoon with my family. We did the ayce dim sum for $25.88. This includes tea and condiments. The food was just as good as if you did Al La carte and other premium dim sum. Our favorite was the crispy shrimp roll and the baked snow cap char siu (bbq pork) bun. Don’t get me wrong everything was delicious. I would skip their xo sauce, it was lacking in flavor.

The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was your typical upscale Chinese restaurant.

The parking could be problematic on the weekend since their lot is small and street parking is scarce.

Service was slow
They gave 3 orders that belonged to another table.
I asked for iced water n I had ask again
The yellow shrimp dumpling was doughy
The BBQ pork was tasty but tough
The beef meatballs had no flavor

All you can eat dimsum is very good value, the venue is very clean and quiet enough for social conversation

Very good Dim Sum for an AYCE. Good quality and delicious. Food comes out hot and fresh. The service is just average.

Excellent food. Very reasonable prices for the AYCE dinner. I would suggest maybe adding one more server

5/3/2025.

I don't get the hype -- very disappointed.

I drove an hour and a half to came here because of all the online hype, but honestly, it feels like those glowing reviews were either paid for or written by people who have extremely low standards. The food was okay at best - I'd give it a 5 out of 10. Nothing special, nothing memorable.
What really ruined the experience for me was the customer service. If I could give less than zero stars for that, I would.
The owner actually accused me of ordering too much and not finishing my food - seriously? I was told I needed to clean my plate or l'd get charged extra. I was shocked. How am I supposed to know if I'll like a dish before I try it? I ate what I could, and when I didn't enjoy it, I moved on. That's how dining works.
Instead of being understanding, the owner made me feel uncomfortable and judged. I've never had a dining experience where I felt so disrespected. I came here expecting something special and left feeling upset and insulted in front of my kids. Definitely won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who values decent service or basic respect.

R Moon

Dim sum was average. But what made the experience bad was the very unfriendly and rude staff.

Food quality is pretty much the same as other Dim Sum restaurants. I didn't discover any surprises. I do however appreciate the spacious seating. The atmosphere is not as noisy as others so that we can hear each other in our conversation without yelling.
Service? So so. I always wonder what level of customer service should we entitle or expect to receive when we pay 18% of gratitudiety.

Doesn’t have any hot sauce like Sriracha and Staffs are rude , I don’t see any Welcome Smile on their faces.

It was my first time at Biatro 1968, act participating at one of the DIMSUM X events. The minutes I walked in, you get that community feeling, big space, filled with people and great food. We order all you can eat dim Sum and it was delicious and and tasty.
I highly recommend thus place for friends, family gathering.

The all-you-can-eat dim sum is available for less than $20.00 on weekdays, which is very affordable. The service was friendly, and I was pleasantly surprised; the dim sum was fresh and steamy. I recommend trying all the dishes except for the taro-fried cake. Unfortunately, that dish tasted like it had been dug out of the back of the freezer and fried in reused oil. Keep in mind that they charge for the pot of tea per person, as well as for the condiments. Just took a few pictures of some of the dishes they offer for the all-you-can-eat dim sum.

I’ve been really wanting to try this place for the longest time, but now I can say that I’m severely underwhelmed. Everything was bland and had no flavor. The only thing i liked was the fried shrimp roll special that was it.
