I love this cafe and it would be such a great study spot if their wifi worked better. I love their matcha lattes, especially their Bala matcha. The food was also very tasty! I went there to study but their wifi was not working even though I was able to connect to it. Everything else was 10/10 and it's a go to spot for me when I'm in the area!

Some people have reported that this restaurant is actually a show, and this restaurant is a very low-level junk food restaurant!

Really fresh drinks and delicious popcorn chicken! We enjoyed the Hoji-corn Latte with tapioca boba and Oolong Tea with pudding. Boba was perfectly cooked and I loved the savory addition of the corn juice/milk to the Hojicha Latte. Umami twist to a classic Hojicha. Will return again!

the boba was really bad, but they were really nice about it. the first drink they made was undrinkable, so they remade it. second drink was bad but drinkable. good service. terrible boba.

That Taiwanese Chicken Sandwich + Matcha Latte is 👌. Indoor tables are cramped and unfortunately guests table spread-- two single guests hogging two tables😑-- you suck. Also if wifi reception reaches the outdoor patio would be nice which also needs a canopy to block the sunshine. Otherwise outstanding menu and service.

Got a jasmine milk tea with boba and it was the perfect sweetness with a nice floral tea. I love all the events hosted here and will be looking forward to coming to more! Thank you bopomofo for creating a community space here in San Gabriel.

Cool space with study-friendly seating and unique drinks. The almond jello milk tea was lightly sweet and nostalgic. Their rice bowls make it easy to treat this like a lunch spot. Music is upbeat but not too loud. Expect a line, but it moves consistently.

I got the bento box with the popcorn chicken and it was so delicious. The assam mango tea was pretty bitter, but the jasmine tea was very good as it had a strong taste😋

Thank you Emma for guiding us through the delicious menu. I didn’t know you could choose your sweetness level and add bobas 🧋 to any drinks.

Bopomofo has been a hot new boba place ever since it opened up back in 2019. It had been promoted heavily by Simu Liu and Phil Wang. Even though I used to go to the vegetarian restaurant that was located here before, I’d never actually come by after they closed and were replaced by this business.

I got the black sesame drink with boba, and it satisfied my craving, but at $9 for a large cup it is pretty pricey! Also, I’ve had better because the drink was kind of watery. Still, I feel grateful for the non-caffeinated options they have here because most boba places only sell strong teas.

I wouldn’t mind coming back if someone wanted to or once in a while, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

A bit on the pricey end but quite good. Ordered a Spicy Taiwanese Fried Chicken Sandwich w/ Mapo Tots ($20) and a Matcha Jin Xuang Oolong ($7.50).

The sandwich was good. The chicken was a bit savory, and the bread was a bit sweet, making a nice mix of the two (wasn't spicy at all). The Mapo tater tots were crispy, and the cheese on top made it delightful (the tofu didn’t add much to the overall flavor but was good either way). I enjoyed the matcha since I like the earthy taste with a dash of sweetness.

Now for the atmposhere and service. The place was a bit small with a small café design but the outdoor seats were nice since soothing music was playing on a speaker. The workers was also nice and gave an uplifting vibe to the place. Recieved my order in ~10 min.

An overall good place to eat/drink every once in a while, especially with friends!
