Air conditioning doesn’t work well, which doesn’t make for a comfortable hot pot experience when you’re sitting in front of a stove. There were also mosquitoes biting us throughout the meal INSIDE the restaurant. Food was alright, but won’t be returning. The low rating is unfortunately valid.
The restaurant is on the second floor. You order your food in an app. It’s not all you can eat but it’s still affordable. Plenty of underground parking. The duck tongue is really gamey.
I've been to DaLongYi 4 times (paused for a couple of years due to COVID), never had a bad experience. I'm from Sichuan, and my hot pot experience is 30+ years. I can attest that the flavor is absolutely authentic. This is my favorite Sichuan Hot Pot in LA. I took my American friends there, and they all liked it too.A couple of tips for first timers:1. The spice level here is comparable to the hot pot restaurants in Sichuan. Translation: medium is already very spicy, even to me. Stick to little spicy if you are used to medium elsewhere. If you can only eat mild in other places, choose little little spicy. There's no shame in sticking with non-spicy options, either. Their mushroom soup base is delicious as well.2. They offer half portions, which is a huge plus. I often overorder when eating hot pot because there are some many varieties that I want. Having the option for half orders made is so much more friendly for smaller groups. The best part is that the price for their half portion is actually half of the full portion, so you can enjoy the variety without paying a premium.Maybe I'm lucky, but I also have never encountered bad service. In fact the service during my most recent visit was top notch. Not only were the two servers attentive and courteous, the owner was super nice to all the guests (we sat near the entrance and saw she greeting customers as they walked in). There was a mix up of the soup base for the table behind us, the owner apologized right away and had it taken care of. She came to our table a couple of times to ask for feedback and check on us, even gave my two kids complementary yogurt. My kids liked the place so much that they asked to go again even before we left. Not saying the other reviews quoting bad service was false, just that those were a long time ago, and not at all the same as my personal experience. Maybe they hired new servers since. The owner definitely has the right attitude to make your visit a pleasant one.
THEY YELL AT CHILDREN!! A grown lady yelled at my 15 year old daughter and her TWO friends and demanded a $12 tip. I would understand if she went with a big group of friends but no. This restaurant already placed a 10% service charge on her bill and then expected a $12 tip on top of that?? My child and her friends felt scared to even leave this establishment, in fear they might get yelled at and scolded even more. This behavior is completely unprofessional and I am certain they would not treat adults how they treated my child and her friends. Do better if you want to keep up with business because you have clearly lost ours!
The spicy soup is excellent! The meats and veggies are all fresh. They could have been a bit more generous with the meat. All the condiments were fresh and neatly organized. Parking was was a cinch. Great place to warm up during a cold night like today.
The food was super delicious. Fresh and tasty are the two words I would use. Friendly staff to reasonable rates. This is a must check out place for anyone who is looking for a good meal!
Went there on Sunday for lunch. They have a wider range of items to choose from. The quality is much higher than other hotpot stores. As a hotpot vegetarian (eat more veges than meats) the variety of veges are great. The meat quality is also very high.
I ordered little spicy in my hotpot soup, but that soup is way to spicy. Then, we wait forever to get our food ready. After that, they add tips in their bills without telling you
We like a lot to go out. Yesterday we went to this fine restaurant which friends told us about. We passed a beautiful evening there with first-rate cooking and an efficient stuff and a distinguished cuisine. We put this venue in our list and we will definitely come back very soon. Highly recommended.
They has so yummy food and the restaurant is sooooo.modern

A bit of bad smell
The service was good just the food ? tasted weird I just like the rice ? and the dipping sauce bet will not be returning.
Hotpot with NO msg? Now that's a keeper! Having tasted most, if not all the hotpot restaurants around the SGV, I found myself wondering why I never came here . What a surprise it's because they only accept cash. Eyerolls.** but hey, the hotpot is what matters the most.
The quality of the food here is pretty good. Tried 3 different broths: The spiciest one, bone broth and tomato. All of them were very delicious. The cuts of meat are higher quality as well. They have decent appetizer, small snack, dessert and sauce selection in a buffet style setting which is typical in this type of Chinese hot pot.
Soup is flavorful, they have a rewards program, a promotion until the end of this year, a lot of different sauces and snacks, service has been good whenever I go, but I’ve only gone during off-peak hours
