J&J, or Jing Jiang, is the real deal. I’ve been going here for years… One of the former servers, became the owner.Phenomenal XLB with crab. Stir Fried Glutinous rice cakes. Sheng Jian Bao is great too. Kao Fu. Fantastic Shanghainese cuisine!
Noodle dishes were good. Xlb while tasty, 60% had no soup? Also service and food took forever to get to the table.
I hadn't been to J&J in years but I was finally in town again and had to get their xiao long bao -- my favorite. They did not disappoint! I'm glad I was able to stop in and enjoy the delicious dumplings. We ordered both the pork and the pork and crab versions and were very satisfied! The flavor of the broth and the meat were clean but still unctuous, and the dumpling skin was just the right thickness. The restaurant has also taken good cleanliness and safety precautions to combat the spread of Covid-19, which I appreciate.Thank you and well done, J&J team!
A seemingly established Chinese restaurant serving authentic Shanghai cuisine. Service was prompt on a Saturday early dinner. Decor is typical with Covid precautions in place.Their staple, Steamed Pao, is excellent. Sautéed bean leaflets are fresh, Shanghai style rice cake is soft and thoroughly done, sautéed shrimp is a must and the fried roll can be a great rice substitute. The outer bread layer of the Pan fried Chinese bun is a little too thick. Fish tail in brown sauce would’ve been ideal if used fresh fish instead of frozen. All in all, an enjoyable palate experience.
Good food, highly recommend the fish fillet with seaweed. And Shanghai style noodles.
Delicious food, Great services, Beautiful place.
food was goods but the service is slow.
Food OK. Service on location OK . Price ok Not things surprised. Have been eating there over ten years
Ok truthfully I came into this plaza looking for my old restaurant Meilong, which is now closed and decided to come in here. The waitress was very friendly and suggested I try the steamed pao with crabmeat which is what they were best known in LA for. Why not? I also ordered onion cake and beef noodle soup...

I have been coming here for over two decades. Homestyle cooking, which means great flavor and good size portions. It's always a treat to enjoy a meal here. Their specialities are Shanghai style dishes. The "soup dumpling", Xiao long bao, can be ordered with pork and crabmeat filling, or just plain pork. The Shanghai stir fried rice cake is also a must try. Give them a visit, you won't be disappointed. The dining room is small, so you will likely have a wait if you are trying to eat at typical meal times. They do have two large tables that can seat 8 people, and when it gets busy, it's tight in there. Enjoy! Their menu is in Chinese and English!
Crab xlb the way to go!
Had no idea this place has been around for almost 30 years. The crab dumplings on par with the crab dumplings of DTF. Price for a order of XLB with crab is similar to that of DTF pork only. Avoid the crowds at DTF try this place. Six of us we ordered 6 orders of the XLB with crab, absolutely delicious. I will be back next week for more.
Best steam bao dumplings in LA.
