Nice 2 Meet U has reopened after renovation and the space feels noticeably better than before. Brighter cleaner and much more comfortable to sit in for a full hot pot meal. Ventilation is also improved so you do not leave smelling like hot pot which is a big plus.

Food quality is solid and familiar but with clear upgrades especially the meat. They now offer more freshly sliced beef and you can really see the difference. We ordered several cuts including hanger steak spoon cut snowflake beef and beef tendon. Everything was sliced fresh nicely presented and cooked very quickly in the broth. The beef was tender clean tasting and did not rely heavily on dipping sauce.

Skewers are still very affordable at 0.49 each with options like spicy marinated beef chicken gizzard and beef enoki rolls. There is also a good selection of small plates and braised items. Small plates are 5.99 each and include tripe seaweed beef tendon fish tofu shrimp paste meatballs abalone and more. Everything looked fresh and was easy to grab.

Do not skip the fried rice. It comes topped with a runny egg and is very flavorful. It ended up being one of the most memorable dishes of the meal.

Overall this feels like a strong comeback for a spot many people already liked before. Better environment more choices and improved quality while keeping the pricing reasonable. Definitely worth revisiting especially if you enjoyed this place in the past.

I honestly wish I could give this place a negative rating. We arrived around 6:00 pm and were told they were not accepting new customers because they were “too busy.” This makes absolutely no sense, especially since Google clearly shows they close at 11:30 pm. Turning people away that early is ridiculous and extremely unprofessional.

We’ve been here multiple times before, and this was our first visit since they reopened, so we were expecting better service—not worse. It felt like they simply didn’t care.

If you’re going to refuse service hours before closing, you should update your hours online instead of wasting customers’ time. After this experience, I will never come back again, and I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone. Disappointing experience overall.

Finally reopened after a long wait! The place got a full renovation—clean, bright, and you’re hit with that familiar chili oil aroma as soon as you walk in. Best part? Prices are even cheaper than before.

Tried the new hand-cut fresh beef—super fresh with visible marbling, and you can taste the quality after a quick dip.

Must-orders:
• Mala beef (numbing and addictive)
• Cilantro beef (a must for cilantro lovers)
• Pickled long bean beef (lightly tangy, very satisfying)
• Don’t skip the braised items: chicken feet, pork trotters, honeycomb tripe

The tripe is especially good—crisp, absorbs the broth perfectly.

Same great flavors as before, better atmosphere, and more affordable. Highly recommend

Really enjoyed this place in San Gabriel. The sour soup broth was flavorful and comforting, and all the small bowls—braised beef, quail eggs, taro—were great. The fresh-cut beef was super tender and cooked in seconds. Clean setup with the ceramic bowls, good portions, and a refreshing iced tofu pudding to finish. Definitely a spot I’d come back to.

Missing skewers hotpot from back home, I did some searching and found this place that feels pretty legit. The San Gabriel location has just been renovated, and it really gives off that China vibe now. Everything looks visually cohesive, and classmates told me it has completely transformed.

The sauce bar is $2.49 per person. You get unlimited access to cold dishes, ice jelly, chilled purple rice porridge, fruit, and all the condiments. I think it is totally worth it. Skewers are $0.50 each, which actually feels more cost effective than ordering meats individually. I really liked the broth. The beef tallow flavor is rich and fragrant. Dipping fatty beef in the sauce was very satisfying.

They also have a lot of serious fresh options, especially Chaoshan-style beef cuts. I chose freshly sliced diaolong and shibing. To me, the meat looked very fresh and nicely presented. Even the fatty beef was clearly freshly sliced. These fresh cuts are great in a non-spicy broth, then dipped in sauce.

At the back of the restaurant there is a large wall of small plates and skewers, all very clean and well organized. You can walk over and browse while eating, since what is available changes throughout the meal. Later on they restocked green pepper beef and egg-coated beef, which made me very happy. Pricing is $5.99 for small round bowls, $4.99 for large round bowls, and $10.99 per large plate. Overall, it is quite budget friendly.

They also have a surprisingly good dessert selection, which feels different from many traditional hot pot spots in Los Angeles. If you know other places like this, let me know. I have been checking out a lot of dessert shops lately, so finding desserts here was a nice surprise. The iced tofu pudding was especially nostalgic. Friends from Southwest China said it tasted just like childhood. Very refreshing and not heavy at all. Highly recommended and perfect for group gatherings.

Great new skewer hot pot spot in San Gabriel! The broth options were excellent, especially the spicy beef tallow. Fresh-cut beef (we ordered the diaolong) was very tender and naturally sweet — no sauce needed. Self-serve skewers with tons of choices. Fun, busy atmosphere and friendly staff.

Nice to Meet You Skewer Hot Pot has reopened after renovation, and the space feels much more comfortable now. The food quality is still solid and familiar. We ordered the pork tripe chicken soup and spicy beef tallow broth — both were flavorful, and the spicy side had a great aroma without being overpowering.

The skewers were fresh, especially the sliced pork belly, goose intestine, and cilantro beef. Everything cooked quickly and tasted good. The fried rice with pickled vegetables is a must-order — very fragrant and satisfying.

Will definitely come back.

This SG location just got a full renovation. I’d seen posts earlier saying they were upgrading, so I was pretty excited. I stopped by over the weekend to do a quick update and realized a lot of people already knew about it. It was busy the whole time, nonstop from noon all the way until around 3 pm.

There are several big changes this time. First has to be the environment. We’re used to plaza restaurants here being more old school, so walking into this refreshed space was honestly eye opening. It really gives off Chengdu Kuanzhai Alley hot pot vibes with lanterns, calligraphy decor, and lots of red accents. It even feels very festive for Lunar New Year. Another big change is the self-serve ingredient area in the back. There are so many more options now. No more opening freezer doors yourself, you just grab what you want. There are also more small plate dishes and braised items. The area is especially clean, and even though it gets crowded, refills are fast, so everything stays fresh.

I also noticed a big upgrade in the meat selection. They now have a lot more freshly sliced beef options, including diaolong, marbled beef, oyster blade, beef tendon cuts, and even freshly processed frog. If you’re someone who cares about quality cuts, this is definitely a treat. Another new highlight is dessert. I don’t remember them having this many options before. Things like fermented rice wine dumplings with tofu pudding, chocolate cake shaved ice, brown sugar tangyuan, and more. The brown sugar iced tofu pudding was especially refreshing. I’ll definitely come back to try the other desserts next time.

For the broth, we ordered a dual pot with beef tallow spicy broth and Chaoshan beef bone soup. The beef tallow broth tasted even better than before, more aromatic, and you can really see the ingredients in the base. It still feels very solid and generous. The Chaoshan beef bone soup wasn’t bland at all and was perfect for dipping freshly sliced meats.

Skewers are still a favorite of mine. I’m honestly begging the owner to add even more skewer options. I saw that they’re currently in soft opening, and they plan to expand the selection later, so definitely keep an eye out. If you already love this place, there’s really no need to say much. The quality is very consistent, the meat portions are large, and at 50 cents per skewer, it’s a great deal. From the 18th to the 25th this month, if you’re into mahjong, you can also check out their blind draw mahjong guessing game, with chances to win prizes or free dishes. Worth giving it a try.

After the upgrade, this hot pot spot feels so fancy and comfortable. The bright, clean space and improved ventilation made the whole experience extra pleasant. The freshly sliced beef was impressive—especially the marbled short rib, perfectly balanced and tender. The egg fried rice totally surprised me: fluffy, full of wok flavor, and topped with runny eggs. Shrimp paste with bamboo fungus and the silky tofu dessert were also highlights.🤩🤩
