I’ve purchased from this place before and never had issues, but this time was very disappointing.

A large portion of the roast pork I received contained pieces that appear to be lymph tissue (spongy texture with holes), which are generally considered inedible and should be removed before serving.

Unfortunately, I didn’t notice until I got home, and more than half of the portion was not usable.

I hope the restaurant can pay more attention to food preparation and quality control in the future.

Sam Woo BBQ is so nostalgic to me. I love the homey vibes because it reminds me of my childhood. Love coming here with family & ordering a bunch of dishes to share. Their roasted duck is amongst one of the best.

Great roast pork and duck!

I’m so glad I found this place, I have been looking for something like this for a long time. Authentic traditional HongKong style food! You see all the grandpa grandma inside you know that the right place. Foods are very generous serving size, and not very salty or oily.

If you love marinated duck feet and wings, Sam Woo is THE place to get them. Very tasty and cheap! If you enjoy bony chicken, Sam Woo has very good Concubine chicken too!

Closed today due toilet street excavation repairs.

Wonderful experience with their catering. Every part of the process was smooth and the food was a hit at my party!

I being going to this place many times, but we went the 05/18/2025, as always the food is great, the service just fair enough, they don’t are like over your glass of water or anything, and when we got the bill I left some dollars for the tip, and this old lady (waitress) was asking for more, although it was just my wife and my two kids, and they just refilled once my kids cup,she was almost screaming at me in front of all the customers, I didn’t want to argue with her, so I gave her a little more, and as much as I hated I’m not going back, I’m switching to Sam Woo at 514 Valley Blvd, Alhambra, CA 91803, United States

The service attitude of the takeaway department is very poor, as if you owe them money.

I went there to buy a roast duck and couple lbs of roast pig yesterday, and the server was having lunch when I ask for the service, then he got up right away and take out a duck and started chopping it up - without even washing his freaking hands!
I am not going back to this place again, unless I want to get a stomach ache!
