The real Chinese hot pot. I love that they have snacks and small dishes before you eat hot and spicy food. Food does taste better somehow but it can be quite spicy too. The service was good.

Authentic Szechuan hot pot. Has all the usual items and the tomato broth is pretty flavorful if you want a non-spicy option. They have a mini bar with all the sauces and sides, plus some tasty desserts. My fave from there was the coconut jelly which has a nice addition of crunchy flakes that adds a nice texture and flavor. Faves for the hot pot itself was the ribeye and shrimp paste, the latter of which was served by the staff as they scooped them into balls for the soup. I would avoid the beef balls because they were pretty tough for my liking. Also the rice noodles require a lot of cooking and were still pretty chewy after a while.

The tech was very friendly and answered all questions that I had about the new system. His crew that completed the installation was very friendly.

new favorite hotpot place! my friends and i randomly stumbled upon shancheng and it's officially our new favorite hotpot spot! there was a long wait, but they have yelp waitlist available which is incredibly helpful to get on the waitlist as you head to the restaurant. the decor of the restaurant is modern meets traditional chinese! love that! service is incredibly fast and the server was helpful in helping us order since we weren't super familiar with the menu. the sauce and dessert/appetizer bar is SO good! their sesame balls with red bean INCREDIBLE. i could literally eat just that all day! so fresh, crispy, and hot!

One of the better hotpot places locally and possibly a new favorite. Ingredients are fresh and the sauce bar has a plethora of snack choices. Although not all you can eat, the prices are very fair and surprisingly low for such quality.Service was pretty fast. The atmosphere is historic in a very cozy way.

So I have tried many of the hot pot restaurants in this area and surrounding neighborhoods. I've also eaten hot pot in China before. Shancheng Lameizi is definitely legit. Staff and most diners only speak Mandarin. The broth was not weak, but rich and strong. Got half tomato and half pork bone broth. Ordered a bunch of Chinese veggies, mushrooms, beef and lamb.Even though it was Tuesday afternoon, the restaurant became filled up quickly. The interior design is very beautiful with books and statues everywhere. I think it must have took them a long time to arrange everything.Only problem is that I was too stuffed at the end of my meal to try more things.Would come back for sure.Vegetarian options: Mostly Chinese vegetables, tofu and mushrooms

Definitely one of the most exciting meals of my life! And also made my top 3 most stressful restaurants to eat with a baby (but WORTH IT) list. We knew there was going to be a wait to eat here so we tried it out on a Tuesday evening during the holidays. The wait was about 20-25 minutes. Be sure to join the YELP WAITLIST on the Yelp app BEFORE you head over or you'll have to manually add your party at their waitlist kiosk when you get to the front entrance. We ordered the half & half spicy (MILD - trust me, don't go hotter or you will regret it!) and bone soup pot. For protein, we opted for the Beef & Lamb combo and the following veggies and extras: *Lotus root, *Chinese yam, A choy, Enoki mushrooms, Yam pasta, Crab flavor fish balls (roe-filled), *Shrimp paste (freshly ground raw shrimp), and *Crispy fried pork. The starred items are must-tries I'd recommend. The lotus roots and shrimp paste are mandatory (says me) and the Chinese yams are a must - an awesome hybrid veggie that tastes like a regular potato and a daikon had a love child. The shrimp paste sounds offputting and unappealing to the uninitiated but when you realize it's the foundation of some popular dim sum delicacies, you'll be kicking yourself for allowing it to give you pause at all. ORDER IT! Just watching our server scoop and masterfully plop balls of it into the broths was satisfying! If you're thinking about ordering rice and fried breadsticks, I'd say skip those, especially if you are already getting the yam pasta, Chinese yams, or other starch. There are plenty of complimentary fried sesame balls included at the condiment bar if you need carbs with your meal. It's easy to go nuts here and run out of room so be mindful! Budget about $50 per person.

The waiters are very friendly and the price is good. I like its long opening hours, which is convenient for me to have late night snacks.

Shancheng Lameizi in San Gabriel has become my go-to for Chinese hotpot in the SGV. The flavorful and spicy soup base, coupled with an enticing sauce and appetizer bar, makes the dining experience delightful. Whether it's the Fried Dough Sticks, Duck Blood, Yam Noodles, or a variety of proteins, each item swims perfectly in the spicy hotpot broth. The attentive waitstaff ensures a smooth dining experience. Amidst the bustling ambiance, with lots of people enjoying hotpot with friends & family, Shancheng Lameizi stands out as the spicy symphony to savor.

The coconut ice jelly is delightful, and they offer a variety of domestic snacks. The medium spice level is already delicious. The bone broth is excellent, and I plan to try the pig brain next time. The service is also great.
