Came here with 7 adult and 2 kids, the restaurant is big enough to sit. The food was average, nothing special. We were exciting about the taro fresh toast and kayan toast, turned out they were the biggest disappointment. Although there were not too many people there, we asked at least 3 times before we got our ice water. If you want to order lunch special, make sure you order with the server not with the QR code as those are regular price.

Macao Cafe has been opening for a while, another cafe foods in SGV, they've been restructured their kitchen ops, so the foods quality is getting consistent and better. I've been trying their breakfast menu, it's pretty economically for business and Happy Hours menu is recommended that I've ordered Young Chow fried rice n salty pepper wings n calamari... it's mostly $9.95!! $10 dollars menu will attract these slower n weaker economy customers.... 3-5:30pm... Lunch menu is also great!!! Designed decoration is very width n comfortable... Services were also fantastics and right on...

UPDATE so quick update about this place. as many of the more recent people have figured out, they changed some kitchen staff i walked by the other day and noticed one of the good kitchen staff from tasty choice (on san gabriel blvd) walking around inside. he was around when tasty choice changed owners several years ago and they completely revamped their menu to a more modern hk style so my assumption is that macao cafe should start to serve food and drinks at the level of tasty choice on san gabriel blvd you can see it by looking at the 2 completely different types of baked pork chop rice from mid 2023 vs late 2023 / early 2024. the 2023 one has uncooked tomatoes, peas, and bone in pork chop i wonder if they is why my recent couple of visits to tasty choice were of lower quality.. hmm edit i went to try and confirmed that there are previous tasty choice staff working in the kitchen quality is up!

I've known about Macao Cafe for a few months, as I love tracking when new Hong Kong cafes open in the area. I finally found an opportunity to try it with my family for brunch one day, so we stopped by. The restaurant is quite spacious, which is convenient as I have a child. The wait staff are very kind. The menus are printed on pieces of paper and are slightly disorganized, but that's ok. We ended up sharing two breakfast entrees - the grilled pork chop instant noodles and then the deep fried fish filet with eggs and toast. This restaurant allows you to have a cold drink with breakfast, so I got a cold iced tea, which was nice. The grilled pork chop was solid, but not amazing. The noodles were instant noodles and the broth was good. The eggs were fluffy, and the fish was cooked nicely and the fish was flaky. Overall it was a solid Hong Kong cafe in the area.

Well.. we went to this restaurant for dinner in walking from home to there. it was the first time and we did not see more than two table occupied around 7:30 pm but we decided give it a Try. Taste: typical Chinese wok food type homemade. Size: Standard but I would like it bigger. Price: Affordable. they open early because breakfast time, manager said so they close 30 min before closing time.

Everything was absolutely delicious! Including the ice water which I tend to be picky on. I will definitely be back.

I'm glad to give it a try and do not let the old ratings fool you. Large portions and delicious. The lunch menu is from 10:30 to 3pm.

New local restaurant just opened 6 months. Give it a try. We ordered a Roti Canai with curry beef brisket. Indian curry base and paprika is added to enhance flavor. Roti Canai fresh made that is tasty but a bit oily. Taste of Hometown fried rice noodles is light which I like. They're not big portions. We added a Kaya Toast with butter. When this order arrived, the waiter recommended Taro French Toast that they smashed the taro and mix with condensed milk then spread on toasted bread. I will try next time. The price of breakfast menu is reasonable.? Support small local restaurant.

I ordered the tomato braised pork with cheese and black pepper beef fried spaghetti, tasted so good and very traditional Hong Kong style, so glad I can find this place.

Very tasty! The boss is from Macau and highly recommends the taro French toast. It’s creamy and fragrant. Very satisfying.

Hidden in an outdoor plaza behind a CVS, this place is easily missed. But you won't miss anything if you do miss it. Decor wise, it is as plain as the shopping center. They have a couple of TV's but that's it. I've never been to Macao so not sure how it's supposed to be. So far, it's typical Cantonese-American. We had the grilled chicken and grilled steak lunch special, which came with a coffee or tea. Lowering my standard to compare it to other Cantonese-American cafes in the area, the food is the same. Nothing special. Nothing memorable. Hence, the rating of OK. The waitress was very nice, friendly, and pleasant.

This Cantonese style cafe is one of my favorite places for lunch, afternoon tea or dinner. The fried rice inside the baked dishes was impressive. Special lunch until 3pm which comes with HK milk tea or lemon tea- very good value and quality. The seating was comfortable and quiet with great service- it's much better than other Cantonese style cafe! Highly recommended!

葡國雞飯,味道跟我以前在香港的一樣,非常好吃。 其他的雞排,雲吞,牛腩麵也不錯。 If you come need to try the Portuguese Baked Rice Dish
