A good selection of chang fen here. Their beef brisket chang fen is both unique and very good. The yodaguai and ham chin peng are also pretty tasty when hot and fresh. On the negative side, while the tables were clean, there is a certain unhygienic vibe which I attribute in part to at least one of our servers who reeked of cigarette smoke when he was speaking to us. Additionally, the menu prices are unnecessarily confusing. They have stickers next to each item with updated prices, but there is another sticker at the top of the menu indicating that everything is actually .50 higher than the listed item price. Why? ? Totally unnecessary and annoying.

Worse service, ordered food and forgot give egg last week, said come back next time and went to ordered this afternoon. They denied what they missed and showed behavior rude. I won’t go there anymore.

I loved the locations in Toronto and Markham, Ontario whenever I crossed the border to visit our neighbors from the east coast. So I was super excited to find Yin Ji Chang Fen here now that I've moved to California. However, this location really sucks. Service is non-existent. No one was there except for our table that we sat ourselves down at. The guy that worked there couldn't be bothered to talk to us as he kept talking on his phone and just pointed to the few menus on the table near the back of the restaurant and cash register. So we grabbed the menus ourselves, and a few minutes later he came by to put down a sticky note and a pencil. He asked us to write down what we wanted and walked away. We wrote down the order for a while, but he didn't come out from the kitchen. So my friend got up and stood by the side of the kitchen entrance calling out to let him know that we're ready to order. When our chang fen finally came, it was mediocre at best. We were so disappointed. We honestly didn't even care about the outrageous price for chang fen, but it wasn't even good. I'm seriously sad about this place.

Food quality is good but way overpriced in comparison to similar restaurants in the area. Service is close to none. I got the table myself, get the table mat and menu myself, the just gave me a small scratch paper and pen to write my order. No water, let alone tea. Only one paper napkin per person. Worse came at the end, No credit cards accepted. This was my first and last visit.
One of my favorite places to get Chang fen and congee. I love the beef and shrimp chang fen, especially with their chili oil. It’s one of the best chili oils I’ve ever had! I put it on everything. Their century egg congee is so flavorful and it reminds me of home. I love dipping the donut stick in the congee too. This is my favorite place to get Chinese breakfast.

Humble place, authentic flavors, nice people.Reminds me of my times in Southern China.
We stayed at the Hilton right next door and walked over for an amazing breakfast! The Brisket Rice roll was fantastic and the chili sauce really hit the spot. Don’t sleep on this spot if you are in the San Gabriel area.
Absolutely delicious. Got two types of congee, two fried donuts and cheung fun

What a dissatisfying experience.(3/10) HongKong Style Frozen Milk Tea/ $6.25- The tea isn’t rich, tea’s fragrant is weak, most importantly it’s almost $2 more expensive than the hot tea when the temperature was just a little bit cooler than room temp. Totally scam on the $2 extra when it’s not as “frozen” as advertised. And when I confronted the waiter about it, he said there’s no ice available since COVID, and told me everyone is getting the same when in reality it’s just blatantly false advertising.(2/10) Ham Chin Peng/ $5.00Weak flavor, no fragrant (不香), greasy. Most importantly the texture of the food should be soft on the outside and fluffy on the inside, but their version is hard rock on the outside and clumpy doughy on the inside, it lacks the sweetness, savoriness, and the fragrant of the sesame seeds when it’s done right traditionally.(3/10) Curry Fish Ball/ $7.75It’s cooked. But seriously, $8 for 8 small pieces of fish balls. It’s probably size of a quarter, way too expensive for what it is.(7.5/10) Shrimp w/ Chives rice noodle Roll $9.45This was actually not bad. Reasonably priced.Decently flavored, good texture, the shrimp is relatively fresh. Good, good.(4.5/10) Dough stick rice noodle roll $7.50Even thought the Chinese dough stick is probably one of the better ones I’ve had in LA, meaning it doesn’t have a weird oily scent (which many restaurants has), it suffers from being just a little bit too hard on the shell. You feel the hardness at the very end of the bite, it’s not crunchy, it’s hard. And although the sauce on top is pretty decent, it can be a little thick and get tired of at the end of dish. Personally, I’d rather have a little bit more of the peanut sauce on top.Last but not least, service. (3/10)The waiter was a young gentleman, but he gives of a “I don’t really care about this job attitude”, no eye contact, lazy tones. And when he serves the fish ball dish, he just kinda dropped it on the table, you can see the sauces rocking in the plate almost spilling out.Overall, if you just want the rice rolls, and the rice rolls only, and you can overlook the bad services, it’s probably worth a visit. At your own risk. ( PS: of course, just like many Asian restaurants, they’re cash only.)
This place is a scam, the price of our dishes is higher on our final check compared to the menu we were ordering. Also, the server demanded cash only with all the credit cards sign shown in the entrance. Food is oily and not that good. A couple of flies flying around in the restaurant so I worry about there sanitation. Only one server working in the restaurant and business very slow in this place. Would not come back no matter what.
Caution: this restaurant doesn't accept cards. Cash/venmo/zelle are okay.Dishes are

As a cantonese, I like their rice roll. It tastes authentic. However the waiter is not very courteous. Possibly a student working part-time. Also, they only accept cash, which is kind of awkward.
