I love 85°C bakery but this one location had horrible customer service i went yesterday 3/7/26 around 5 and the cashier was rude she looked like she didn't want to work which I completely understand being overwhelmed but how is that any customers fault also she was looking at me with a disgusted face and had a passive aggressive tone. My boba was ok the milk tea was delicious but the boba was so hard I asked her if they could remake it and she said I had to pay for a new one or just throw it away. My partners Vietnamese iced coffee was horrible. It makes me very sad because I go to 85 a lot this experience just has left a sour spot.

Lots of good variety to choose from and some popular ones are already gone by noon!

Great price, great breads. Their salt bread gives me the salt bread fix I need. Their Hokkaido cream pastry is 🔥

Ordered sea salt jasmine tea. Like how it tastes. Right sweetness. Better than the one in Cupertino Main Street store

The 85°C Bakery Cafe on Capitol Expressway in San Jose stays true to the brand’s reputation for fresh pastries, efficient service, and a wide drink selection. From the moment you walk in, the space feels clean and inviting, with the aroma of freshly baked bread greeting you at the door. The sea salt jasmine green tea is consistently excellent—balanced, refreshing, and not overly sweet. Their cheesy garlic bread also deserves its popularity; it’s warm, flavorful, and satisfying without being too heavy. While the pastry case leans toward sweet options, there are enough savory choices to keep things interesting, especially for those who prefer a lighter snack.

Ordering ahead is a smart move, especially during peak hours when the line can stretch and certain items sell out quickly. Staff are generally responsive and courteous, though occasional delays or missed items have been noted in reviews. Seating is minimal, so this location functions best as a grab-and-go spot rather than a sit-down café. That said, the layout is efficient, and the flow of foot traffic is managed well even during busy times. The drink menu is extensive, with seasonal specials and customizable options that cater to a range of preferences.

Matcha lovers will find plenty to enjoy here, from buns to beverages, and the portion sizes make it easy to try multiple items without overcommitting. The bakery’s consistency and accessibility make it a reliable stop for students, commuters, and anyone looking for a quick treat. Parking is straightforward thanks to the shared plaza lot, and the storefront is easy to spot from the main road. Whether you’re picking up a birthday cake or just grabbing a drink between errands, this location delivers on convenience and quality. Overall, it’s a solid neighborhood option that balances speed, flavor, and variety.

I stopped by 85°C Bakery and picked up a Sea Salt Caramel Coffee, Milk Bread, and Lemon Muffins. The coffee was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness and a nice touch of saltiness. The Milk Bread was super soft and fresh, and the Lemon Muffins had a light, zesty flavor that wasn’t overly sweet. It was definitely crowded when I visited, but honestly, that just showed how popular the place is—and the service still moved quickly. Overall, a great experience, and I’ll definitely be back to try more!
