Ambiance is nice, most food was sweet like BHEL puri, pani puri. Kothi parotta was the worst. It tasted like boiled vegetables with soggy chopped paratha. Pongal didn't have a ghee taste. Kesri would have been better with pineapple pieces.

Ordered the following items and here's my review: Tomato soup. It was basically a heated version of Costco processed soup pack. Quantity was also very little. Tasted avg. Medu wada: Very little sambhar and chutney (bland) provided for the plate. Be prepared to eat only wada (without sambhar) if you are not willing to pay for extra sambhar. Harabara Kabab: Tasted avg and took 50 mins for the order to arrive. Overall, I do not recommend this place. There is no other place in Bay Area that charges for extra sambhar or chutney. There are much better places around and it is not worth the huge wait times they have.

Not even close to A2B back in India. If you go with that expectation you will be very disappointed. When you enter there is no one at the receiving end to check how big is your group and showing us table. You can just walk and sit where ever you want and no guidance on how and where to order. Liked the QR system scanning order and multiple ppl from same table can order in their own phones. We ordered Maysoor bonda and it was basically urad vada in ball shape and no aloo inside. If you order A2B special dosa - it will have cheese ( who puts cheese in dosa) , was served with 2 same white chutney , red chutney and sambar. Good quality was not good, I would prefer Saravana bhavan instead or Madras cafe. Not authentic. Yes fancy place to dine in and fancy item in menu but taste is not fancy. Such a disappointment.

I wish I could give zero stars.. very very bad service, food quality fell beyond average since last six months. The food ordering app doesn't work.. call for help through app and no one attends, even after raising hand and calling for help, it took them more than 15 mins to attend.. very bad experience..

Giving this a three star because it used to be good just a month back. The very first time I went here, probably back in January or February, it was very good. A month later, I saw the quality had slipped a little bit but not too much. Yesterday, it was a horror show. I don't know how someone can make kothu parotta 'sweet'. We heard that they recently changed their recipe for some items but this was totally unacceptable. Add to that, almost everyone in our group had a heartburn after the meal . I am from Chennai and I love the a2b restaurants back home. It's very sad to see such a great band plunge to this level. Hope it gets better

The best way to destroy any favored brand indian/Chennai restaurants is to franchise it in US and watch it go down in flames a few months after it opens. Unfortunately A2B seems no exception to this curse! We went there at 920 AM on a Sunday for breakfast. They open at 9 AM. You would expect the food be at least warm if not piping hot ( Sambar, idly etc) we got room temp idly and same for vadacurry. They tasted fine but both came at RT. Same for Vada sambar or Tiffin combo. The Vada batter seems to have fermented and you could taste the sourness in Vada. Chutneys and sambar were good. Pooris were freshly fried but the potato side dish is a joke. A liquidy mashed potatoes with a few mustard and onion thrown in. We ordered coffee and tea to be served after breakfast on the web order. But when we left around 10 AM they told us coffee and tea are not ready. Can't you guys do better than this?

Like most Indian restaurants in the Bay Area.. this restaurant has already fallen into the "used to be good" bucket. I know South Indian food. I've grown up eating it my whole life.. I didn't come here for the service or exotic food.. I came here for a good basic south Indian meal. And it was basic and perhaps even south Indian... Good definitely not! If you get potato fry wrong we have a problem..... It was soaked in oil so it wasn't crunchy.. Infact all it tasted like was like oil.. yennai potato .. perhaps a new dish? Go to Madras cafe or Tirupati Bhimas. They aren't new but as the saying goes.. old is good south Indian food or something like that. A2B you get a C

Classic Indian restaurant serving high quality of food. This place brings the current excellent urban restaurant ambiance in South Indian cities to the Bay Area. This has been something that has been missing. The waitlist system and the ordering system were excellent. Food wise, the vada was top notch. Kothu parotta was a pleasant surprise. I have never been able to find a good tasting Kothu parotta in the Bay Area till now. Strongly recommend trying this.

South Indian food done right. We went for a Saturday brunch. This place was super crowded but we liked it for few reason. A) easy checkin process to add name to the wait list B) ordering food is very easy as you can place order from the device C) food serving was quick and all the orders came with less than no gap D) finally the food quality was good We had ordered bhel puri( right amount of sauces, meduvada sambhar ( crispy and well cooked) , masala dosa ( thin and crispy with tasty potato stuffing) , sambhar was bang on, thali which was the popular recommendation. Good variety of curries and amazing paysum . Overall sums up our scrumptious meal

I was not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. The pack was packed on Saturday afternoon and seems to be very popular. Their ambiance is clean, modern and welcoming with both indoor and outdoor seating. They have no touch reservation and no touch menu. The app/website they use for placing orders directly from the table is a disaster though. I was unable to delete orders once I added them to the cart, there were inconsistencies between the cart items across devices, the update system on the online cart was slow. I provided this feedback directly to the person who came to get us out of this mess but his response was dismissive. Either way, they are one of the few restaurants to have such an updated ordering system, kinks are expected. Coming to the food, everything tasted authentic. The healthy millet dosa actually tasted healthy and props to them for having some healthy options on the menu. The thali came with a lot of dishes and rice and roti. Yes, the service was apathetic but you don't go to an Indian restaurant for its service.

Great ambience, touchless ordering, retail parking, lots of food choices, loved the Sambhar. The food could be a lot better, flaky idly, dry poli, sour coconut chutney. Try this place if you are looking for a nice vibe.

I have been to this place a few times at different times now and found it always bustling but never had to wait long lines(thankfully) Most importantly it's in middle of residential complex so there is an enclosed retail parking garage adjacent to it. They have plenty of options on the menu. We have tried dosa !before and it's one one of the best dosas have had in the bay. I tried podi ghee idli (steamed rice lentil cakes with ghee and spiced powder). The idk is are as light as air. I would have liked sambar or chutney to reduce dryness from chutney. Also tried mini thali. Absolutely loved the cabbage served with kesar shira and curd rice. The filter coffee is exactly to my taste. The best part is the place isn't stuffy. Its extremely clean with lots of natural light. Big plus for the staff wearing masks and gloves. This is very much unlike lot of other places serving similar kind of food that includes rice items. ( it's a fact!) Will definitely revisit or do take outs for the taste and flavors when in area. Special mention for digitizing order and payments!

Super busy place on the weekends. Love their Jain options. Fresh food, nice take out portions. Wish the parking could be better for curbside pickups.

Went to this place as it was highly recommended. But it fell way below the expectations. There is no customer service in this place. You place an order using your phone and the QR codes on the tables. Even if you press the "Help" button on the phone, no-one comes to your table. We ordered appetizers first and only 1 came. The 2nd appetizer came with the main food. I had to get up everytime to add an item to the order & talk to someone at the counter. Even that individual was not so helpful. The customer service does not exist in this place. I've had better dosa at other places. The only good thing they have on their menu is Raj Kachori Chaat - thus the 1 star. I do not recommend this place & will not return.
