Food is sub par compared to other sushi restaurants in the area. Service was slow - especially getting refills on water and hot tea. The decor is fun - lots of photos along the wall and toys on the ceiling light fixtures, but not enough to offset the food and service. Prices are more reasonable, but you get what you pay for

We've eaten here many times and we're always happy with it. The last time we ate here was in February. We returned tonight and were highly disappointed the chicken teriyaki appeared to be old, the tempura was limp, and the california rolls lacked flavor. The pot stickers were old and hard. The miso soup and salad were.fine. The men's bathroom was just dirty, like it had not been thoroughly cleaned in months. The tagging that had been covered in spray paint since at.least our last visit was still there. It seems like they are struggling as there are only 2 employees there now. We most likely won't be returning.

I've been coming to this restaurant for years and it pains me to watch its decline. Despite the embarrassingly poor service, I've visited multiple times hoping it was just a fluke but its become apparent that's just how they operate now. While the servers are friendly, they crawl to get anything for your table. I asked for a to-go box which I could literally see by the register and yet the server went to the back of the restaurant and did not return for about 20 minutes(still without the to-go box). During that same outing, they forgot to bring out menu items I ordered, had to be reminded multiple times I was still waiting on an order despite over 30 minutes having elapsed, and made numerous errors on the bill. The same three employees are always working whenever I visit and seem to prioritize socializing amongst eachother and discussing their personal lives rather than attending to anything remotely work related, regardless of how busy the restaurant is. It's truly such a shame because I still enjoy the food, but the customer service has fallen so far from what it used to be.

Great place, Mr. Bruce and the rest of the staff are awesome. I've been coming here for years. There's a ton of sushi places in SJ, but I will always make the drive to Ariakes.

Was just okay when I visited but got delivery from this place and got food poisoning from California rolls. Not the best experience, had to miss work and not able to eat for 2 days. Now am scared to eat 🍣 sushi

Must be New ownership.The 👨 making the rolls did not even know how to make a California roll. We had to ask for hot tea three times. The restaurant was not busy.
