Soups are good, but I think they can improve upon service and ambience

I ordered the #1 Bun Bo Hue, and it came out in about 5 minutes. I've been here a few times over the past decade. Their broth can vary slightly from time to time, but overall, I think this is one of the best spots in the Bay Area for Bun Bo Hue. While the prices have gone up over the years, the portion sizes are still massive and packed with meat.
The soup had a light lemongrass flavor, it wasn’t too spicy or salty. The meat was good, but this time around some of them weren't as tender as I expected it to be. They also provide a side of fresh veggies, shrimp paste, and sate (Vietnamese chili sauce). I added all the veggies to my soup while it was hot to soften them slightly. For a more savory flavor, I added a bit more shrimp paste. Just be careful not to add too much, as it can overpower the dish. Season to taste, add a bit and give it time for the flavors to kick in before adding more if needed. The same for the sate, I added more to give my soup an extra kick of spiciness.

We have been here a couple times over the years. They have really good pho with a lot of meat and a reasonable price. We stopped going there after being rudely treated.

Great bowl of spicy Bun Bo Hue very warm. The setting is a regular restaurant though intimidatingly large. Great service and food is always great!

We tried this place for the first time for dinner this evening and was pretty good. They specialize in Bun Bo Hue noodle soup hence their restaurant’s name.

The meat of the vermicelli is foul. Must review quality. Food lost its quality, meats are no good, may be left over night with rotten smell.

Not Hue beef noodle soup but Mexican beef noodle soup, the meat is sliced thick and big like a small block of meat, looks vulgar and has to be cut into small pieces with scissors before eating.

First time I had it, really enjoyed it. 2nd and 3rd time, the broth seemed sweeter and it was off for me. Could not finish my bowl but maybe I’m tough. Have not tried their other dishes. Very fast and efficient.

The food was satisfactory; however, the overall experience was diminished by the unprofessional behavior of the staff. We requested basic utensils and encountered a lack of courtesy in their response.
