Bacalhau, the Portuguese word for dried and salted codfish, is a beloved staple in Portuguese cuisine. It’s prepared in so many delicious ways, and when we visited for the first time, we couldn’t resist trying three different versions—all of which were absolutely delightful!

I visited Sylvie’s Steakhouse at Mercado Bacalhau Grill and was really impressed! The steak was perfect — tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. You can tell they use top-quality ingredients.
The service was excellent — the staff was super friendly and attentive.
Great vibe, amazing food… can’t wait to go back!

Our family of 4 adults went for lunch today. The place was dim and of old decor but food was great, delicious, fresh, of generous portion, not too salty or covered up with sauce, just healthy good food. We all enjoyed it.

The food was delicious. I have never had Portuguese food before. However, I will not be coming back. Very obvious that the we were not welcomed, seeing that we weren't Portuguese/white.
Waitress didn't say hi, didn't come back to check on us (all the while everyone else was treated wonderfully with a smile.) I wanted another beer, after being ignored for our whole time there, I finally gave up.
Very disappointing...

A place with a pleasant atmosphere, different food, quite good, the problem here is the very slow and indifferent service, we arrived and despite looking at us standing there, the waiters just continued talking, I approached the counter and the waitress gave me two menus and told me to sit anywhere
The service is too slow, there is a lack of customer service. Despite the place being nice and the food good, I think the service leaves me in doubt as to whether I would visit this place again. I would for the food, but for the waiters, I think I doubt it. Apparently, they are not motivated or eager to earn more tips with good service and more return customers. BAD SERVICE

Great Portuguese and Brazilian food and super friendly environment.
We have been to Portugal couple of months ago, and their creamed cod immediately brought us back to that trip. Was absolutely delicious and a very generous portion.

For any Brazilians or Brazil lovers in the Bay Area, this is the best restaurant/market in the area. The prices are affordable and the food is amazing! Highly recommend!

I used to live in Brazil. This place is the best and brings lots of memories back to me when I come here to not only eat, but shop for Brazilian items. The food is just as good if not better than the expensive all you can eat restaurants in the area. They have live music and my wife and I love coming here for date nights. The plates are authentic and affordable. You won’t be disappointed.
