The only banh xeo place in San Jose that specializes in it but it doesn’t do a good as job as other spots even in the same plaza. Crispy edges but the whole thing is oily and flimsy. Too much bean sprouts not enough meat. The nem nuong rolls were weird. Large cucumber in the middle and not enough crispy eggroll wrapper inside. Really mediocre

Worse service we literally call for Banh chao
They said they do I and my sister went there to eat they give us a raw chicken pho and it smells very bad my sister ordered banh chao and smells disgusting as well mushrooms seems like expired when we confronted the cashier that smells very bad look at the chicken it’s not even cooked well we spend $50 for nothing cashier don’t wanted to refund our money back because they selling expired vegetables and raw chicken when I told her we never had a issue like that before in different Vietnamese restaurant this is the first time we came here if you guys closing than you shouldn’t be taking the customer. When I get home I start throwing up 🤮 I end up to go the emergency hospital I hope the management take action to this matter. They should be lucky I didn’t call for health department

We visited this restaurant around 7:30 pm and ordered bánh xèo and chicken pho. As soon as we sat down, the staff started rushing us to order, but we were not informed they were closing at 8 pm.

When the food arrived, the experience was very disappointing. The chicken pho was uncooked, with chicken skin still on it, and it had a very bad smell, like the chicken was expired. The bánh xèo also smelled bad, and the vegetables inside tasted and smelled like they had been sitting for days.

We only took one bite because the food was clearly not edible. When I complained, instead of handling it professionally, the staff took our food tray and showed it to other customers, as if trying to make it look like we were lying. That was extremely unprofessional and embarrassing.

Despite not eating the food, we were charged full price.

This was a very disappointing experience due to poor food quality, lack of professionalism, and bad customer service. I would not recommend eating here, especially close to closing time will be calling department to check this restaurant for serving bad food

As I was eating my Banh Xeo, I found 2 strands of hair in the salad, 1 inside the the banh xeo stuck to the cooked batter.

We informed the employees and recommended that the food handler wear hairnet (as required by law). She went in to imform them, came back out and said they are wearing it. She turns around, I stood up and look inside, none of them have hairnet on.

It's ok if there was issues. Acknowledgeit and act on it. Never go and lie to your customers or they may call the health department which may put you out of business.

Banh Xeo was good, the spring rolls were okay. My only issue was with the staff, they forgot to bring a few dish we ordered and one of the waitress was particularly rude which ruined our experience.

We came here for bánh xèo and it did not disappoint! The crepes were crispy, light, and filled generously with shrimp and pork. Fresh herbs and lettuce were served on the side, making each bite so flavorful and refreshing. The nước mắm dipping sauce was well balanced, not too sweet or salty. The menu also has other Vietnamese dishes, but the bánh xèo is definitely the star here. The place is casual, cozy, and the staff is friendly. A great spot in San Jose if you’re craving authentic Vietnamese bánh xèo!

The only Vietnamese crepe place I know of. For that, it gets points. Quality of crepe is good. Quality of other items is an average.

June 2025 update:
Been here many, times since my first review. I’ve come to really enjoy the crepe dish. And I’ve never seen it anywhere else. Perhaps they could add a tad more meat ands less bean sprouts to improve the dish. But I still feel healthy eating the huge lattice and veggies basket that comes with it. Spring rolls are ok, Shaking beef of very good but pricey. Pho hits the spot but it’s not legendary. But I added a star to make it 4.

The egg rolls here are incredible—super crunchy, flavorful, and honestly the best I’ve had. My partner and I even visited Vietnamese Town recently, and nothing there compared to how good these were. I also really enjoyed the other dish I ordered (C3)—everything was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend!

We've been coming here to get our Banh Xeo fix when we're in the Evergreen SJ area.

Lately, we've been getting the (B1) Bánh Xèo (shrimp, pork, squid) and (C7) Bún riêu ốc (thin rice vermicelli crab paste and snail soup).

The Bánh Xèo was fresh and crispy. The side of leafy greens and vietnamese herbs are plenty. However, the Bánh Xèo itself could use a little bit more protein inside. Also, a handful of Thai chillis on the side would be awesome.

We noticed that when you order 2 Bánh Xèo, they give you a single plate of leafy greens and herbs. We prefer to have our individual plate of veggies.

The Bún riêu ốc is OK. The crab meatball is tasty but could be softer. Pho Kim Long makes this soup better but we don't like how Pho Kim Long is now stingy with their Sriracha and Hoisin sauce.

Stopped in for a quick dinner with the boyfriend and it's exactly what you'd think, Banh Xeo. But wow! That was a lot of food! They did not skimp on veggies or meat here! Best thing is it's light, and you don't feel awful afterwards! Definitely got our money's worth!

Banh Xeo Spot on Silver Creek – A Crispy Coconut Masterpiece in the Heart of Viet Town

When my partner and I are craving something green (but not too green), we head straight to capital express way for our go-to veggie fix: the beloved Vietnamese coconut crepe, banh xeo. If there’s one silver lining to French colonialism (and let’s be real, there aren’t many), it’s the culinary crossover that gave us this golden, crispy, coconut-laced delight.

Traditionally stuffed with shrimp, banh xeo can be customized with pork or chicken, but here’s a pro tip straight from a pair of loyal regulars: stick with the original. If it ain’t broke, don’t hit it with chicken. The magic is in the details—crispy coconut batter kissed with chives, topped with lightly sautéed bean sprouts, and served with their signature carrot vinaigrette dipping sauce. One dip and your taste buds are doing the Electric Slide. This is not your average lettuce wrap situation—it’s a handheld flavor bomb wrapped in crunch and nostalgia.

Feeling extra? Add the banh khot—a smaller, thicker, pot-pie-esque cousin of the banh xeo. These mini crispy cups pack serious flavor and are the kind of thing you’ll find yourself Googling at 1 a.m., wondering if anyone delivers. Spoiler: they don’t. Get it while you’re there.

The restaurant itself is small—intimate, if you will. About 15 to 20 seats inside, and a modest patio area outside for those who enjoy dinner with a little neighborhood ambience (read: Teslas playing bumper cars in the parking lot and the occasional RV that may or may not be someone’s permanent residence). But between the charming pink flower walls and that distinctly local energy, you’re too busy vibing with your crepe to care.

This spot isn’t trying to be flashy—it’s a no-frills, flavor-first staple of the San Jose Vietnamese community. Family-run vibes, solid prices, and food that hits harder than your mom’s best soup when you’re sick. Whether you’re new to banh xeo or it’s already in your rotation, this spot is a must for anyone who respects crispy edges and coconut batter done right

Located on the far corner inside a strip mall (with mostly Vietnamese restaurant and an exotic food and a matcha hot spot), there is ample parking

Not your typical Pho place (though they have it) but they're known for their Banh Xeo (felt more like a build your own Banh Xeo). Very crispy and tasty that brings back memories of the time in Vietnam. Another flavorful is their duck salad. Their spring rolls are good but it can be a filler. I suggest go straight for the Banh Xeo and Banh Kot and get an order of their beef porridge.

The banh xeo was crispy, lots of veggies, and fish sauce was on point. We had an amazing meal here, after a long time of craving traditional banh xeo.

We were also enticed by the pandan one and gave that a try. It’s a very subtle difference but you can definitely taste the aroma of the pandan.

Lots of veggies which we really appreciate, some places really skimp out on that but this place doesn’t.

A light and delicious meal. Food was good, service was extremely fast. No complaints.
