Stopped by today around 1:00 pm on a Saturday and it's closed. All the way closed down. No signs of activity maybe in weeks?
My visit to Big T's Seafood Bar in San Jose was a fun and flavorful experience, especially for seafood lovers. The restaurant has a lively and casual atmosphere, making it a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy a hearty meal.
One unique thing about this spot is that you can choose fresh seafood and decide how you want it prepared. The restaurant offers a variety of options such as oysters, crab, lobster, shrimp, and clams, all cooked to order with different styles and sauces.
I tried one of their seafood ramen dishes, and it was very satisfying. The broth was rich and full of flavor, and the seafood tasted fresh and well prepared. Many customers also recommend items like fried calamari, grilled shrimp, and oysters, which are some of the popular dishes on the menu.
The portions were generous, and the overall vibe of the place felt energetic but relaxed.
Overall, Big T's Seafood Bar is a great place in San Jose if you’re craving fresh seafood and bold flavors. With a wide menu and a lively atmosphere, it’s definitely worth checking out.

Many items isn't available, price is very expensive, I got the shims only 5 in the order in a small paper tray, when I pay said cash only

Here, I recommend the clams and the grilled squid. The oysters are okay, but nothing special. The grilled squid was surprisingly really good. They also recommended a small portion of the creamy tom yum, and it was delicious.
It’s extremely loud, and they wouldn’t lower the volume—earplugs are a must.
I went there for razor clams, but they’re only available from February to March, so keep that in mind.
Wine corkage is $15. All the dishes are disposable, which was a bit disappointing—they didn’t tell us in advance, and I only realized later.
I think next time, I’ll probably skip it.

Stopped by Big T’s Seafood Bar with a friend the other night, and honestly, it was such a fun surprise. I wasn’t planning on having a “big seafood evening,” but the moment the plates started coming out, I was fully on board.
We tried a mix of shrimp, oysters, and a couple of sides — everything tasted fresh, seasoned just right, and came out piping hot. The portions were bigger than I expected too, which I appreciate when it comes to seafood (nothing worse than tiny plates for big prices — not the case here).
Service was warm and easygoing, the kind where you feel like they actually enjoy having people there. The space itself is casual, a little loud, but in that lively, everyone’s-having-a-good-time way. Not a “sit quietly with a book” spot — more of a “laugh with friends over food” kind of place, which fit the night perfectly.
Only thing I’d tweak is the lighting — the designer in me always wishes for a touch more warmth or character — but that’s me being picky.
Overall, really solid seafood, friendly people, and a relaxed vibe. I’ll definitely be back when I’m craving something fresh and messy in the best way 🦀💛

They were really accommodating by making seafood for me without butter and rinsing the grill (I have butter / milk allergy).
The seafood portions were awesome and the lady here was really nice. Thanks!

Wild experience. Every time we go it feels like the reality is slipping and the food is amazing. Allergy friendly. LGBTQ+ friendly.

The tomahawk was already dead, but whomever the chef that was responsible for this atrocity murdered this poor tomahawk steak to the abyss. Please do not sell these to anyone. It was burnt, bitter, dry, overcooked, underseasoned, and anything that could've gone wrong with a steak did go wrong. Very disappointed. A piece of good beef had gone to waste. A waste of time and money and the poor cow sacrificed for nothing.

This place got me lickin’ my fingers every time. The fish? Crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside. The shrimp? Big and juicy. The sides? On point. Plus, the service is BIG T House sauces—they treat you like they actually want you to come back. BIG T is where it’s at!
